These go back to the Acushnet Club Special, Acushnet K (Ball #6 and #8), Titleist Acushnet DT (Ball #3), Titleist DT "Durable SURLYN" (#5), DT 90 (Durable Titleist), Tour Balata 100 and 384 Tour 100. Wow....still playable:) Can anyone else fill-in with pre Club Special pics? Or, perhaps other balls I've missed?

Wowza you've got some old balls.  I've never seen a Club Special.  I remember the Balata and the Professional 90 well (I loved that ball).  You've got a cool collection there.  I look forward to seeing what other's post.

Tour Balata from 1989.  These were the range balls used at the Greater Milwaukee Open.

    1badbadger,

I think I bought some of those range balls from the GMO as well back in the late 80s. Terry Beardsley was the Head Professional in those days. Brings back some great memories. Thanks for sharing.

Nice collection! I've played every ball Titleist has made since the club special. For the past 30 years I've found and sold thousands upon thousands of golf balls. Sold as many as 15,00 balls in one year. I've collected logo balls to the point that I'm running out of room for them. Just last week as I was hunting balls, I came across a Titleist Tour Prestige golf ball. The thing that makes it unusual is that it passed right through my ball retrievers orange head. That means that it's a "British Size Ball". I thought Titleist had stopped producing those type balls long before the Tour Prestige came out. Anyone else run across any "British" size Titleist balls?
  6. I was just given a dozen of what I believe to be British sized Titleist Tour Prestige 90. What are these worth?

I admire your collection, but I don't see the Acushnet Green Ray listed. I have a few of them in my own collection.
  8. I envy you guys that have some of those old balls. I played them way back in the 1960s. My first set of clubs were Spaulding Wood shaft irons with and an original Acushnet Bulls Eye Putter. But being a youngster, I let all those goodies slip away. All the best.

    Colby,

Thanks for the great pics taking me down memory lane.

I actually wish those Tour Balata's and the 384 Tour 100 were produced nowadays. I actually would enjoy putting them into play again for myself. Very, very different than the balls that are out there today.

Very cool that you were able to not only dig these up, but hold on to them..They are all in pretty good shape. I will have to see what my Dad and Grandfather have hanging around to see if there are any different one. Great post and pics

Great collection. I started playing at Lake Tahoe and would buy a sleeve of Club Specials for each round. Only $1.95 a sleeve. Great feeling ball for the price. Do you know when Titleist stopped making them?
  12. My boyfriend and I are avid golfers..well he is and I am just learning the game and am hooked!! Anyways we go around and play at different courses and I m always searching for balls hit off the course. I found these two and have been trying with no luck to figure out what and when these were in production. Any advise or knowledge would be greatly welcomed!!

Hi Cassandra No historian, but I'd guess the Haig is circa 1960's (maybe late). The Titleist, probably early 80's - I remember those when I was a kid.
  15. Titleist 384’s came out in 1983

That brings back memories. I used to play the Club Special as a kid and got my first hole in one with it over 50 years ago. I don't remember the price per sleeve but I do remember cost for 9 holes was 25 cents for students.
  19. Great photos and collection. That's WAY back! I have a couple of old ones laying around. I actually brought some balatas and put them in play last year. Great feel just like I remembered, and I kept them in the fairway better! ;)

Never knew that DT meant "Durable Titleist."

I guess you learn something every day.

Hi, I'm looking for someone who might have a listing of all of the Titleist DT balls made by year. I already have a listing for all of the prov1 and prov1x balls, and am trying to put together a total list of DT balls over the years. I find tons of balls while golfing and probably have 100 or so dt's from various years.
  22. Can anyone tell me when the Titleist 384 Tour 90 was produced?

  25. I remember as a kid playing Club Specials and dreaming someday to play "real' Titleists. Always great products !!
  26. I recently came across come older Titleis balls that say only Tour 100 on them. I've seen others that say Tour Balata 100 or 384 Tour 100 but none that are marked only Tour 100.

Anyone have info about them? Thanks!
  27. Recently came across some Tour 100's. I've seen Tour Balata 100s and 384 Tour 100s but none that said just Tour 100 on them. Anyone have any info on them? Not sure if they were earlier Balatas or something different. Thanks!
