I have read discussion regarding ball performance. Is there any data which shows when NXT Tour and NXT Tour S balls start to lose their performance (distance when struck)? Is it after normal use (not striking cart path, etc) for 9 holes? 18 holes? Thoughts?

I play a NXT ball and I have no issues with performance through 18 holes. I usually play my NXT ball 9 holes and then introduce a fresh ball at the turn if I haven't lost the initial ball.

Good Question? I play the Tour S time to time depending on sky conditions my eyes pick up that yellow extremely well in low light or overcast conditions and I have played several 18 hole rounds without any noticeable drop in performance. But that isn't really what you ask now is it? Data, I can't provide but on course evaluation I can. And I have had absolutely no problems with the performance or durability of these balls, unless of course a cart path jumps out in front of it.

What I am getting at is this - some of my friends play with "used" golf balls all the time. Others only play with new balls, and change them after 9 holes. I started wondering if a golfers play is at all affected by the "age" of the balls they use. Do balls used for several rounds of golf (no cart path damage, etc) perform as well as new balls. I don't think they do, but I have no way to measure this. How do we find out?

This would be a good question for a Titleist ball specialist to answer. I've never detected a change in performance so long as the cover is intact. My home course has a lot of water and marshes off the fairways. Doubtful that any ball will be in my possession for as long as 3 rounds. I can't imagine that the ball would change much over just 100-150 shots, excluding putts, if no cover damage.
