When you buy a dozen Titleist balls...

    ...do you empty the four boxes of three all into the ball pocket of your bag or do you feed them in three at a time as you use them? This is just a curious question as I have noticed that it always crosses my mind when I break out a new dozen.

    I always have seven ProV1's in my golf bag. And I mark three of them to put into play first. I usually need to only restock with one or two at a time.

    I keep several dozen in my locker and add a sleeve as needed. I will usually have one new sleeve and maybe 6 loose balls in the bag at all times.

    I always mark my balls with a line for putting so after I buy a dozen, I mark them, put them back in the sleeve and put the 4 sleeves in my bag. If I dump them all the the ball pocket the Sharpie rubs off and the balls all get a red tint to them.

    I do not carry a dozen balls in my bag. Usually have 6 or so. Every extra item when walking adds just enough weight.

    I go sleeve by sleeve, for no real reason, other than perhaps superstition? I guess I feel like if I put a dozen balls in my bag, then I will play like I need to use a dozen balls in the round?

    Most of the time I'll add a sleeve, as required. There are times though when I'll throw in the entire dozen. So I guess my answer is...both!

    I order a whole bunch of balls and then mark them sleeve by sleeve, case by case, put them all back how they were, and then they are ready when I need them. I like a blue line when I use a ProV1x and a red line when I use a ProV1.

    3 at a time with some older beat up balls in the ball compartment. Usually have 1-2 extra sleeves tucked away if I need them.

    Good question!! I usually add one sleeve at a time, I like to keep about 12 balls in my bag and will usually retire a ball if it is scratched or scuffed to my chipping bag.

    Only carry 6 balls at a time in my bag.
    3 for play and 3 for backup.
    If I lose 6 balls in a round it's time to quit playing this awesome game.

    Usually have 5-6 loose balls, especially when walking. If I'm playing a new course I will typically + 1 sleeve (just in case)

    I agree with Tim Tiger, I carry the bag so minimal balls in the bag. Definitely a sleeve of ProV-1's, and some volunteer balls.

    For walking, 3-5 golf balls. One sleeve and a couple of extra. If riding, 6-9 balls. Three sleeves. I store the others in a box at home. Agree with Dr. K. If you lose more than you have in your bag, it's time to quit and take up bowling.

    I normally mark my balls three at a time using my Tin Cup American flag stencil. I found that If i carry more marked the sharpie wears off during normal walking on the course in my bag.

    That is an interesting question. I use them a sleeve at a time. Keep the rest in my closet and put one sleeve in my bag. I mark them and put them pack in the sleeve so I know they are new balls and they will be ready to use.

    Same with the Dr., 3 loose and a sleeve for backup. If this doesn't get me through at least 36 holes time to find out why?
