Removing Sharpie Marks From ProV1's?

Matthew C

Anyone have any tips on how to remove old Sharpie marks from golf balls? I hate to use a chemical on the ball that might ruin it. I have some ProV1's I need to clean up. Thanks

I would try an overnight soak in hot water and soap, then scrub with sponge.

Simply put, two words: Magic Eraser

Nail polish remover always does the charm (anything alcohol based)

Carburetor cleaner works best, won't hurt the ball but won't remove all of it, just get yourself some new balls now is the time!

    Try some liquid pumice soap.

Might try fingernail polish remover on a cotton ball. Don't soak the golf ball. Put it on the cotton ball lightly and then gently rub the area you want removed.

Some won't come out regardless. I use Goo Gone to start. I that doesn't work, I spray a little rubbing alcohol on the area. If that doesn't get it, probably stuck with a sharpie stain for life.

I use my shotgun cleaning solvent when cleaning shotguns. Drop them in for a few seconds, rinse, dry...brand new!

Try using the grooves of a new SM6 Wedge...
Simply apply a several sweet swings on those Sharpie marks and they will vanish in no time.

Love the answer from Dr K.
I use a red stripe on my Pro V's and after a few swats with any club, they fade quickly.

I have to admit I have tried myself and not very successful. Those sharpies are really sticking! The different agents I have used only faded the mark.
