I try to wake up a couple of hours early, which isn't hard since I'm a morning person.  Swing by Starbucks and grab some wake-up fuel.  Then head to the bank in case I need some money for special games.  Get to the course early enough to warm-up, stretch, hit balls, and putt.  My key is to not feel rushed and give myself plenty of time to get into round.

Well get up about 5:15 , go wake my teenage son up. Shower, then leave for the course. On the way stopping for a bacon and egg sandwich and a Monster. Get to the course with 45 minutes or so to warm up.

When I have an early round the next morning, which is normally every Sunday, I make sure that my clubs, shoes and clothes are ready the night before.  I hate fumbling around early in the morning, waking up the family, trying to find a hat or belt.  Sometimes I don't sleep well the night before, mainly because I'm worried about sleeping through my alarm.  I try to get up an hour and a half before the tee time.  Coffee is mandatory and usually something light to eat.  Aside from that prep, I check some golf online while I'm waking up and try to get to the course with at least 30 minutes to warm up (which doesn't always happen).  It's a simple routine.  Now all of this can change if I'm playing a course that has some driving time.  Up even earlier, picking up the guys on the way, etc. etc.

Wake up and roll out of bed before the sun comes up, drive to the course, spend some time in the steam room before my round and off to the practice tee! I must also have a Diet Coke to get the blood flowing. Always try to get an early time to get around the course quickly.
  6. I get out of bed at least 2 hours before tee time, shower, dress, make coffee, breakfast(normally one egg over easy with cheese on toast or a toasted bagel no butter), at least one cup of coffee, soap the selected shoes and get to the course. Putt for at least 10 minutes, chip for at least 10 minutes, swing two irons for a while, orange whip a few times, and tee it up.

    Hi Abby,

We're the first ones off at 6:30am on Saturday mornings, so other than rolling out of bed, having a cup of coffee, and hitting a few putts when we get to the course, we're off....

Being the first ones off gets us around in about 3 1/2 hours, so it's worth it to have the rest of the day for family things....

       Thanks...!!

I'll get to the golf course about an hour and a half early. Do some light stretching and change into my golf shoes. Swing through the golf shop for a cup of coffee and some small talk with the golf staff and then head to the practice green.  Once there I will spend about 15 minutes putting and hitting a few chip shots then it is offer to the range for full swing work. At the range I will hit maybe 50-60 balls working on getting loose and focusing on striking the ball solidly. A quick stop back at the putting green to roll a few more putts and then it is off to the first tee.

I get up 2-3 hours before my tee time. Start a pot of coffee and grab a shower. Then I have a nice breakfast, bacon and eggs or something similar. Do a once over on my bag to see if anything needs to be replaced or stock replenished. Head to the course an hour or so early to hit the range to get warmed up and then the practice green to get a feel for the greens. Head to the first hole and let it rip!

First, I LOVE early morning tee times, big fan... So i'll wake up about 2 hours early. Take a nice shower to make sure I'm looking good to play. Then I'll head to the kitchen and make myself some coffee. I usually have 2 cups of coffee and then a bagel with either cream cheese or butter. If I have time afterwards, I'll watch the golf channel and stretch out at the same time. My goal is to always get to the course about an hour early. Gives me time to get my stuff ready, hit the range if there's one and then putt around. And before I tee off, I do one more last stretching. Then off we go...

We used to have a standing tee time every weekend at 6:30am.  That required some planning and coordinated effort to get to the course in time to stretch and hit balls.  I would get up first, make a couple of expressos (need it strong for that time of day), start the bacon and eggs and head to the shower, my hubby would come in and finish the breakfast sandwiches, wrap everything, pack the car and when I finished, we'd head to the course with just enough time to hit some balls before we tee'd off.  Nowadays, we tee off at a much more reasonable hour of 7:30 - we keep the same routine, but no racing around now :)

Turn the coffee machine on. While I'm shaving and brushing the teeth, I like to listen to Jake Trout & the Flounders, "I love to play!" Then I grab the coffee and get in the car. I love driving in the early am when its still dark, the traffic is light and the coffee is hot.

Now that I'm playing amateur tournaments every weekend, I have developed a nice routine. I get my bag ready every Saturday night, with everything packed and clean, ready to go. On Sunday mornings, I wake up around 6:30AM, no matter what time my tourney starts (normally between 9AM-Noon). I make coffee and prep breakfast, check my favorite golf websites, watch some Golf Channel programming and then get ready and head out. Some of my fellow #TeamTitleist members know that normally I make it to the course like 5-10 minutes before tee time and always give me smack about it, but now that money is on the line (giftcards and side games $$$ really), I take it more seriously and respect the fact that I need to warm up and prep myself for the round, the right way.

5-10 minutes? Let's go with run from the parking lot, shoes untied and slide up to the first tee!!! Always a pleasure to have you in my group H.

I wake up early enough to make sure my Titleist clubs are clean and ready to go. There is just something about cleaning clubs before a round so now it is now part of my routine. Coffee and a good breakfast are a must. Coffee while watching the Golf Channel and making practice swings in the living room gets me ready to go.

I do love an early morning tee time, but I don't take it as far as you guys and gals do.

First thing's first is to get coffee and breakfast going.  I generally make an bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on an english muffin.  The homemade is some much better than Dunks or Buck's.  I drink as much coffee as I can and then get my golf gear on, pack some granola, extra cash, a new sleeve of ProV's, a fresh mug of coffee and head over to the course.

I get to the club about 45min before go time.  Toss my shoes on in the parking lot, chat with the course staff for a few min and then putt and chip for about 20 min.  I usually try to get up and down until I feel like I've got a good read on the greens, fairway and rough conditions.  After that, I'll take a few full swings (3-6 balls) with either odd or even numbered clubs for about 10 min, and then I'll drain 3-6 footers until our starter lets us know we're up.  After that I'll make sure we're all square on the game we're playing and try to hit one down the pipe!

It usually starts the night before getting everything ready, but when I get up on the day to golf I do this.

    1) I thank the lord for waking me up.

    2) I lie on the floor as soon as I get up and stretch my back by pulling my knees to my chest for 10 seconds on each leg.

    3) I then get up and look out the window to see if the wind is blowing or raining.  Praying for a good day..

    4)  Start the go juice (coffee)

    5)  Shave, get dressed, pour the coffee, have a few sips, have something simple to eat.

    6)  Write a note to my wife saying I love her and leave it by the coffee machine and that I'm sorry that I forgot to tell her I got an early tee time.

    7) Sneak out the door before she gets up and mad.

Just kidding guys......(6 and 7).......................Just getting to the course is a treat in itself...............

I really do a lot of stretching and try to get to the range for a small bucket, hit a few putts,   Remember, a bad day on the golf .course is better than a day at work.,,......

Gotta fill up my travel mug with coffee just like any other day.  Its easier to get up for a round of golf though!  I'm usually pretty pumped up to get out and be on the course early morning when there is still dew and it's fairly quiet.  Love the peace of an early morning round.

I shut off my cell phone alarm to wake me up, curse that I've got to go to the gym and then the office, until I realize that it's the weekend and I'm getting up for GOLF! I fire out of bed and get the coffee going, take a mug into the shower with me. (Just trying to maximize time/caffeine.) Then I make a PBJ to put in my bag for the turn. Hop in my truck, crank up some Prime Country (George Strait is key for accuracy) and I'm ready for the first tee!

This will be key this weekend with two 8am shotgun starts!

I always get up 3 Hrs before my tee time which gives my body time to wake up and provides me time for a couple cups of coffee and breakfast before I leave for the course.  I like to be at the course at least an hour before my tee time and once I get to the course the routine is pretty much the same, depending on the course; Check in, then on with the shoes and knee brace (as we get older, we suffer from the abuse we inflicted on our bodies during our youth), stretch, hit a few balls just to loosen up (if the course has a range...if no range - find an open space and swing a couple clubs to help with loosening up), hit some chips and putts and then off to the first tee.

I may have made the first four this morning, but I was out on the course.  Oh well, such is life...

I have my Titleist equipment ready to go the night before, always.  Shoes, SkyCaddie, extra towels if really hot, and I know what clothes I'm wearing, my wife normally styles me, it's been a pretty good, goodluck routine of hers.  Because I work night shift, I have some sleep issues when I try and sleep at night, so most times, I'm up by 5 am, for 8:30 tee time for both Sat an Sun.  I'm a kid at heart, so cereal it is, most of the time.  Sometimes me and the wife team up to cook something.  I head out at 7, with a 5 min drive to the course.  When I get to the course, I check in, and grab cart key, then off to the vehicle to saddle up.  I always warm up for weekend golf, as the money action is at its peak.  Saturdays I hit only odd # clubs and Driver, Sundays, even # and Driver.  I keep 4 balls for Driver just before heading to first tea.  I chip, pitch, and putt for about 20 min, then I head back inside for a water an crackers, then hit the last 4 balls with Driver and head to first tee.  I didn't include any stretching, as it is a daily thing, since spinal surgery 8 years ago, it's done whether golf in played or not, immediately after waking, and sometimes repeated.

  27. I wake up around 4:30,start the coffee pot, and start my day. I leave the house around 5:45. Get to the club around 6:oo. The owner has coffee ready, so I pour myself another cup of "joe" and help him get the carts out. By the time we get that done, the regulars start arriving. I shoot the breeze for awhile, do a little stretching and head for the first tee. WHAT A LIFE!!!!! Retired for 9 tears and play golf everyday!!!! steve b

First off in my opinion there's nothing better then a early morning round. There's just something about being up with the mowers a golf coarse early in the morning is a magical place. I like to be checked in and on the range at least an hour before tee time. A lite breakfast coffee and protein bar something like. I like to began with some stretches to get loose and then a little warm up working on a few shots. I like to spend the rest of my time just enjoying the company of my playing buddies and a little quiet time studying the coarse.

The night before the round I pick out the FJ My Joys and attire to make sure it coordinates... Don't need alarm clock due to early work hours and biological clock. So, I wake up and lace up the runner and put 3-4 miles behind me. I come and make sure the TT bag gas all the goodies and it's off to the course with 1.5 hours to spare with a protein shake and espresso.

Get to the range and loosen up with rubber tubing and start with the 4 iron and hit half shots. Go through the bag and putt for twenty minutes and visualize the first hole to be played.

As a prior military, routine oriented guy I set  my alarm so that I have ample time to get ready. I usually meet a few of my friends for breakfast at the course at 6:00am when they open. I order a much needed cup of coffee and a round of eggs.  We usually catch up from the weeks events and get the BS meter pegging with some banter for the pending round. I then head to my locker to gear up, check in at the clubhouse, pull my push cart out of the storage room, strap my bag on, and head to the range. After stretching and hitting a few balls to loosen up I head to the putting green near the first tee to roll a few putts. After making a few side bets we walk a few more steps to the first tee where 10-15 guys who have been together over 10 years prepare for battle.

Early morning round means a 6:30 am start, so I roll out of bed around 5:15, shave and get dressed in outfit chosen the night before.  Breakfast of cereal and OJ.  Grab a banana and a soda or GatorAde and often a cereal bar for sustenance on the course (especially during the summer), and hop in the car.  Of course, clubs, shoes, and hat are already there, having been selected the night before and loaded in the trunk.  At the course, a quick check-in with the pro shop, grab some ice water, load the cart, and am ready to go.  If there is time, I hit a few warm up balls just to loosen up--no practice, and roll a couple of putts.
