    Played with my buddy yesterday who is fairly new to golf and is really starting to fall in love with the game. I played pretty well (shot 79) but on a short par 3 I almost recorded my first Ace. Nutted my 54 degree Vokey SM5, flew my pink custom ProV1 right over the top of the pin and for a second, thought this was finally my time.

    The tap in birdie was a good feeling, but the feeling of my first Ace has eluded me again. The hunt continues...

    What are the actual odds of making a hole in one on a par 3 hole for an amateur?
    The odds are 12,500 to 1. For professional golfers, the odds drop to 2,500 to 1.

    Best feeling in the world to have your irons/wedges on point...worst feeling in the world to realize how incredibly lucky you have to be to get an ace. Best if luck to you, me...all TT who hasn't penciled in a 1 on the scorecard.

    Great shot! I've known guys who played for decades and have never got one and my buddy who had just picked up the game a few months before had 2 in a single month. It takes skill and some luck too.

    45+ years and never had one. Had the Course Sup. at a course in Connecticut tell me on a par three that he had "... never seen the ball go in the hole, and bounce out onto the lip", like mine did. That was the closest for me.
