  1. Moving this to where it probably belongs under ball fitting.

I’ve jumped back and forth between ProV1, 1x and other brands lately but looking for an updated recommendation. I swing about 105 mph, don’t really need more height, like a really soft ball around the greens, and could benefit from lower spin on driver and long iron.

Looking for others’ experience and recommendation. I’ve heard maybe Avx would be good to try? Thanks!

AVX is a great ball. So are the other Titleist premium options. When Ben Hogan was asked about his "secret" he said, "I dug it out of the dirt". We can all tell you which ball we like but there is no substitute for personal experience. Get a sleeve of each ball and spend time with putting, chips, full wedges, mid irons, and then the driver. Factor in performance and feel and choose what works best for you. Does not matter if it's the ball the majority of us play or not. What matters is the confidence it brings you when you play. Best wishes in your quest for the ball that's right for you.

I agree totally with Dale’s recommendation. Based on what you’re telling us, ProV1 would seem to be the choice. But, once again, try both and make your selection. Then stick with that ball in all conditions and temperatures. Personally, not a fan of the AVX.

If someone asks me which ball I like and recommend, I always ask them what they are playing and what they want in a ball. I personally like the Prov1 and Prov1x left dash. If they have never played the ball I will throw them one to try and see for themselves and recommend they buy a sleeve. If they do not want to spend that much on a ball, I do not make the offer. But do recommend one of the lower priced balls, Speed or Soft. A lot of the Seniors in our men's league, play with use OPs, which contributes to slow play when they are looking for balls on fourteen holes that have water on them. =(
  5. I got fitted for the AVX and it's helped me a lot.
I hit high, real high and when the Titleist pro saw me hit he immediately had me hit the AVX and it was like night and day.
I like a softer ball and funnily enough I've heard the new Pro v1 is closer to the AVX than the V1X.

I was at a fitting a few weeks back and the fitter discussed balls, Gave me a couple 2 packs of the AVX to try as he thought they would be a good ball for me.

Funny enough I have always like the old Top Flight Xl2000 balls from way back when
