Was looking to make a switch to the KBS C Taper shafts in my 710 AP2's. Was wondering if anybody has gamed this combo and what your thoughts were. I currently have the Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.

    Thanks Shawn

    Hi Shawn,

I have the KBS C Taper shafts in my MB's and have found them to be a lot better than the Project X I had in my AP2's.  I have found that my trajectory is a little lower with a greater pearcing ball flight.  I got more distance, about 5 yards per club and a closer dispersion rate than the Project X shafts.  The shafts are very responsive so if you are a feel player you will like the way you can feel impact.

As usual it is all about preference, however I have played with a number of people this year that have switched to KBS and would not go back to their previous brand.  Also, visit the KBS website as they do a really good job of providing the necessary information.  And as always get fitted by a certified club fitter.

    Hope that helps.

    Sean

Thanks for the reply Sean. I put the KBS C Taper in my 7 Iron AP2 last week before my final tournament of the year. I was very impressed right away. I noticed right off the bat on my initial viewing that the shaft was a little bit lighter than my current S300 shaft. It also has a great look to it with the Satin finish. Now for performance I was able to pick up a few extra yards and a better ball flight.  I will be making the switch over the winter and have the rest of my iron set equipped with the C Tapers. All in all the shaft is amazing. Great info on the KBS website if anyone else is considering these.

    Cheers Shawn

I am also making the change in my AP2's, from the DG S300 to the C Taper S+.  I tried the shaft in my 6 iron, my carry increased by approx 8 yards on average due to the spin dropping by approx 25% thus flattening out the trajectory.  Best of all, the dispersion was tight tight tight!

Now the decision is should I wait to swap them out in February during the Golf Town Shaft & Grip sale so I can save 25% or more, or to wait until the new AP2 version and order them with the irons.  No I have no knowledge of new AP2's, but you would think they are no more than a year away.

Tough decision as I play year round on the wet left coast, and a high ball flight this time of year makes for some tough searches in the middle.
