I live near Niagara and have played most of the courses in the area.

Looking for recommendations on new places to try that are not to far. Not necessarily looking for the most expensive prestigious type courses but more the overlooked courses that are great to play but don't get all the exposure.

    What's out there?

There's so many. I really liked TPC Osprey Valley, that's one of my favourites. Black Bear ridge is another one I love but that's out in Belleville. Angus Glen is also a nice challenging course. Rattlesnake, Lionhead, Glencarin etc are all really nice.
  3. On the way to Black Bear Ridge another great course for the value is Timber Ridge in Brighton.
Down your way I have heard good things about Willow Valley. Looking to play this year.

I played Trillium a few times. I still prefer Black Bear but yes Trillium is a deal.

May and June is not a good time to play these 2 though, the black flies are really really annoying.

There are tons of courses out there so I imagine you should get a lot of great suggestions. One that is not a great distance for you to travel to is Osprey Valley. This is the home of TPC Toronto. They have three courses on site and all three are great tracks ! Highly recommend you give them a try :)

Down your way is Hunters Point in Welland (was called Lochness Links also). Its a beauty. Go across the border and play Rochester.
Heron Point is in Ancaster is outstanding.
If heading up the London way, Craigowan in Woodstock, Tarandowah near Ingersoll are gems.

Unfortunately Hunters point was sold to developers and is no longer around. Was a great course

Sadly sold a few years ago, this was such a gem..

Grand Niagara will be closing soon too. Niagara needs to step up their game! Their population is growing and need some quality courses.

No way! That stinks. Was so good. Used to go there for the Toronto Star Amateur qualifiers back in the day.
Walking the long holes along the canal with a massive barge floating along was sureal.

Tragic loss. Thank you for posting. I had no idea.

If you don't mind driving about an hour, Copetown Woods is a great hidden gem in the area.
