712 AP1 Lie Options?

  1. Hi, I had a set of 710 AP1 irons that I purchased after hitting them at a Demo Day with a Titleist Rep, who recommended from my ball flight with a 6 iron that I purchase a standard lie set. However, after playing most of the year with them, I came to the conclusion that the short irons (9 - GW) were too flat for me as I was hitting them off the toe and spraying them to the right. (I had been playing png for 20 years and was always fit for 4 degrees upright in their models) With that being said, I've crunched the Lie numbers between my old Pings and a standard set of the new 712 AP1's and think I can probably get away with just ordering the entire new AP1 set at 2 degrees upright (I will definitely get fit just in case) My question is, are the 712 AP1 iron heads manufactured @ 2 degrees upright, or do you guys just take a standard head and bend it 2 degrees upright? Also, if you could provide me with the lie options for the new AP1's, it will help me before I go see my club pro. Thanks.

Hi Butch, We have the heads built at standard and at 2° upright. We will bend the AP1's 2° up or down so our max is 4° upright and 2° flat.

    Butch,

We have a standard lie angle head and a 2* upright head (manufactured).  We have the option of going as much as 4* upright, so if someone is requesting 2-4* upright, they will get the 2* upright head bent to their preference.  The lie angles we have for the 712 AP1 are the same as the 710 and have the option of going 2* flat-4* upright (1/2* increments).

  4. Cameron, thanks for the awesome information. Now that my I have my thoughts down on the irons, I was wondering if you could tell me about the Vokey wedges. Are the Vokey's manufactured at the same lie angles (standard or 2 degrees upright) as the AP1s or are they manufactured at different lie angles? Thanks again for the help!

    Butch,

The Vokey's are all manufactured at standard lie angles, and are bent to the specification required.
