  1. Is it possible to get the dynalite gold XP shafts with the AP2 712s?  It appears its only available for the AP1s?

I just got fit for my AP2 712s and the XP was the recommended, and ordered shaft. No upcharge.

Got the call that they just arrived at Golf Galaxy on 11/22. Unfortunately, I left for a golf vacation on 11/21, so I haven't even picked them up yet.

  3. Thanks. I've done the same.  And I'll be away on business when they arrive.  So I'll know the feeling.  :-)

I would echo the question Glenn and expand the request a little. From a previous thread Titleist responded that it was indeed possible to get the CB's fitted with the XP shaft without an upcharge, but would someone please explain the different benefits of the XP versus the stock Dynamic Gold shaft in the new AP2's? I can't try the XP's in the AP2 where I live.

    Hi,

I got fitted last week with the Dynalite Gold XP (R300) on a set of 712 MBs. It appears this shaft is much lighter than the stock Dynamic Gold. Easier to swing, less effort, acceptable torque too. Basically, it will produce a higher ball flight with better distance. That's what I understood at least... Hope it helps. Cheers from France,

    Brice.

  6. You may want to check True Temper's site or even the TItleist site info on these shafts - but I do believe the XPs are a little lighter at 117g each - and the kick point is mid, promoting a mid or even high trajectory.

The Dynamic Gold shaft is a little heavier with a higher kick point and promotes a lower trajectory.

All sorts of benefits that are unique to each golfer... so not an easy question to generally answer.

Ultimately it'll depend on how you load the club - and what kind of trajectory you want.  Feel is critical and absolutely personal preference... No way to figure that out unless you get to swing it, obviously.

Some people like the feel and stability of a heavier shaft, while others can control something that's lighter for the potential extra speed and less fatigue.

Ungh... sorry - wish there was an easy answer - short of finding an advanced fitter that's nearby.

I was able to get the Dynalite Golf XP with the AP2s, so as confusing as the site info can be, there's some clarity and good news.

    Hope this helps!

Yes, they are available.  I hit the ap2's with the XP shaft it was stiff.  I liked the feel of them, but I ended up going with the KBS's they felt better, the backspin was up with them, and my shot dispersion was much smaller with the KBS.

very much so available. Agreed with the last post though, the KBS shafts are the best however I am impressed with the stick S300, so easy to load and the ball flight was very similar to the KBS I swung. I have played 4 rounds with my new 712's so far, I would have to say....I am sleeping with my irons! The best irons ever, I am blown away!
  9. Thanks.  I did try the KBS as well.  tough call!  my numbers were pretty similar... but I wound up opting for the XPs.  :-)
