  1. I am upgrading my combo set from 710AP1/AP2 to 718 AP2/AP3 and was fitted with Nippon Modus tour 3 105 stiff shaft.

I was originally thinking of AP3 (4 - 6) and AP2 (7-P) to match what I have in 710AP1/AP2, but after looking at the loft specs, there is quite a gap and some have recommended on the Titleist discussion board to go with 2 Degrees strong for AP2 and 1 degree weak for AP3.

What I am concerned about, is that the bounce for these clubs were meant with the original loft, and changing them by 1 degree may not be that bad, but 2 degree especially on AP2 for the shorter iron may not be a great idea as I tend to have pronounced divots, especially with my short irons.

I was also quite impressed with hitting the AP3 vs AP2 - 7 iron and so I deceided to go AP3 (4-7) and AP2 (8-P), wherein I only need to change a 1 degree weak loft for the 7 iron, and 1 degree strong for the 8 iron. The gaps within the series is now about 4 degree apart.

I am about to order this and what to make sure my latter selection is reasonable, or should I switch back to the original selection opted by some on this board..

I would be comfortable with your thoughts on adjusting the 7 and 8 irons- a nice blend- the end bounce on these irons shouldn't be an issue.

Suggestion. I typically like a heavier shaft and tried the KBS Tour. Found they are in regular and stiff lighter than dynamic gold but can still feel the head and definitely feel more kick and a higher ball flight. I have tried lightweight steel shafts and did not like them due to lack of feel of the head weight.
  4. Thanks for your suggestion.
I tested many shafts during the fitting, and I did not notice/or paid attention to feeling the club-head. Perhaps I should have. I was very comfortable with this shaft and really liked the results on launch/ spin rate/ dispersion.. Anyways, I put the order in last Friday, so looking forward to them.

I still like to play traditional lofts, I have my forged irons bent 2* weak- starting at 48*pw w/8* bounce, I play a 54*/10* sw. I wouldn't be to concerned in adding a little bounce to the irons, unless your playing off of very firm conditions
