I'm booked for a Titleist fitting but just thinking things through. I Have a 10.5 degree driver and a 21 degree TS2. I've recently worked with my pro to change a few things to stop me delofting so much. I was previously launching the 21 at 16 degrees. Now I need to fill the gap. I have tried the 15 and 18 TS2 but felt that 18 was too close to my 21 and 15 seemed inconsistent.

Haas anyone tried the 16.5 TS metal, and how did you find it?

  2. Hi Ricky,

I was fitted for the TS3 Driver and Fairway wood about 5 mos ago. The TS3 15 degree was significantly longer (Trackman proved this) than my 15 degree 917F. Because I didn't want a ton of extra distance in the fairway wood, my fitter had me play around with the 16.5. In the end, that is what we settled on as I was getting very similar distances to my 15 degree 917F2. Having said that, I only pulled the trigger on the driver and have yet to order the 16.5, so I don't have any on-course experience with it. Nor do I recall the exact Trackman #'s. Nevertheless, I hope this helps somewhat.

I use an 18 after my 915 7W (21 degrees). I also have a 16.5 for my go-to 200 yard off the tee box for par 3's over 190 yards (limit of my 5W) and a couple of holes I play were 200 yards is at the crook of a 90 degree hole with tall trees blocking the corner. I have issues with the length of the 16.5 stock shaft off the deck so with the 16.5 being able to be dialed from 15.75 to 18, using a 5W length shaft is alternative to not getting enough gap from an 18 w/o making it harder to hit.

Thanks for that guys, I'm leaning towards the 16.5 I think. Will let you know how the fitting goes.

Well I was fitted last night. 16.5 TS2 0.5" shorter. Very tight dispersion and still some impressive numbers.

Great results, Ricky. I too was fit for the TS2 16.5 and picked it up last week. It is a fantastic addition to my bag. Checked all the boxes.....height, dispersion, distance.
