hi all, i got fitted at my courses pro shop for the tsi when it first came out, ended up with tsi2 11 degree head and hzrdus rdx smoke shaft in stiff.

club shop only carried the usual stock shafts and this was by far the best setup for me.. however 2 seasons i still dont think it is quite right.

the other options were the tensie blue or white. blue just balloned high right. white was too low launching so stuck with hzrdus..

anyway, they hzrdus shaft that ended up being supplied by titleist is actually different than the one listed on the website. shaft supplied 6.0 60g 3.5 torque... shaft advertised 6.0 62g 4.1 torque

i feel my curent setup doesnnt actually play like a low to mid ball flight, just fairly low. would this be the torque difference?

or has anyone got any reccomendations on a low spin mid launch shaft?

    cheers

    sorry for the long message

Too many variables in your swing for us to give advise on this without seeing your TrackMan data. You would be better off seeing another fitter who can get you dialed in. I would not normally expect an 11 degree driver to still launch low, especially with the hzrdus shaft which are usually higher launch and higher spin shafts. You might even be a good candidate for a TSi1 with Aldila Ascent shaft. Again, only guessing. Nothing works better than an hour with a good fitter. Nothing worse that 10 minutes with a bad fitter. Good luck. Hope you find what works best for you.

the shaft is low launch low spin, its more of the issue that titleist advertise one type of shaft and yet supply a different one.

tried that head and shaft, just balloons, first was the air speeder which was laughable

    1. I agree with Dale regarding seeing another fitter. Find a Titleist certified fitter with a number of years experience.

    2. Those Fujikura Air Speeders are a light weight and high launch shaft (40-48g). I would say, based on it being this lightweight, it would be designed for someone with a slower swing speed. I have always gone to a Titleist certified fitter and have been playing the Fujikura Speeders shafts a all my drivers, fairways, and hybrids. The performance and distance I get with this clubs is outstanding. When I was fitted for my TSi3, my fitter put me in the Fujikura Speeder 661 TR S (68g. 3.5 torque, m/l launch), which is very similar to the precious Fujikura Speeder shaft I had in the Driver I was replacing. Going to this fitter he orders my equipment directly from Titleist, all my numbers are taken directly from Trackman, regarding ball spin and loft. At my age (75) I am playing my driver at 11.50* and am very happy with my distance and accuracy. Loft and low spin equals distance.

pretty sure my club is titleist verified and was done on trackman. they do not however have all the upcharged shafts available to demo.

so just to clarify again, the shaft that is a stock hzrdus stiff thats on this very website is not the one thats actually being provided by titleist
  7. Which model Hazardous shaft are you using? A 6.0 has a stiff rating with a 4 torque. There are 6 different Smoke shafts with different flight & spins characteristics. It’s very important to get this right, as well as the adjustable loft setting in the club head. If you bring your current driver to a qualified club fitter or a PGA Superstore, they’ll have several different Smoke shafts in stock to test and a Trackman to provide the helpful data necessary to get the correct combination for a good fitting. Best of luck.

this is my point, my hzrdus shaft is a 6.0 (stiff) 60grams and torque of 3.5 direct from titleist, yet the shaft thats avertised is a different weight and torque value than the one supplied.

Sam. Talk to your UK club manufacturing site or the UK Customer Support. They may not have the same shafts as the USA advertises as their stock shafts. I know they do their builds over there as opposed to all US builds in Carlsbad CA.

cheers Dale, that would make sense, nobody seems to of even noticed that they are different. in the mean time im borrowing a diamana s72 but its x flex. however its far easier to load than the hzrdus stiff, spin rate was a little high but did carry longer

Hopefully you get something dialed in that works for you and you can trust. You hear stories about pros who break a shaft and even their supposed exact match never feels comfortable to them. I know its much better that the shafts from 10 years ago but still boils down to tweaking your shaft, loft, club weight to get something you like and then a lot of reps of hitting balls to trust it. Cheers buddy. Stay safe and hit'm straight!

so an update after getting fitted for a fairway wood at a local titleist fitting event, from what i was fitted in i used that knowledge andended up switching the head other to the low spin head but with a higher launch shaft and the change was dramatic, driver carries the ball over 20 yards further which has increased my average distance off the tee a huge amount. Ball flight is so much better!
