Everyone who is serious about their game gets fitted however, how many of us have split iron sets in their bag and how many of us think or know that it makes a difference. Reason being I have completed the iron sector on here and has given me 2 clubs, so I am thinking I might need a split set....

    Opinions appreciated

Split sets are becoming more and more common. The current T model irons were specifically designed to better integrate mixed sets with more common look and feel between each model. Hopefully the next generation that come out this fall will continue that trend.

I'm currently gaming a set of T350's (7-PW). My prior set was a combo set of AP1/AP3.

as for knowing the difference? There have been several brands that I can't hit to save my life. And that was with demo days where i was able to hit different brands, models, etc.

If you get fit, don't look at what the fitter is giving you to hit, just hit it. You don't want the mind to cloud things, such as swinging harder with a stiff flex, etc.

Well, our opinions should not really matter. We all have different swings, set-ups, etc., etc., etc.,. The important thing is to go see a reputable experienced Titleist certified fitter. I always do and he knows me very well and he always puts together the right shaft and heads for my game. He never fails me, as long as I listen to his recommendations. It finally sung in that I need regular shafts. Hit what he suggests. Let him/her be in charge and look at the results. If you are not happy, find another fitter.

I strongly recommend a fitting if you're considering a combo set. I ended up with the T350/T200 combo. Fitting day I was hitting well and loved the T200's but I'm not too consistent, so he recommended I could go with a combo set. Worked out well for me. The days I'm dialed in, I wish I had the full T200 set, but I know better. Regardless of what some people say about the T200, they are amazing clubs. I have the 5, 6, & 7 T350, and they're very dependable. I find that the only downside for either one is the guy holding the clubs when I'm playing.

This is my first split set. The Titleist fitter recommended 7-48 T200 and 6 T350, then metal woods Happy with it. Never would have come up the same solution on my own. .
  9. I use T400's. 2021. Got fitted and bought at my local pro shop. I'm very happy with the 7- W. However I'm really thinking hard about replacing my 5 and 6 iron with hybrids. My irons are just so difficult to get in the air.

Right now I'm experimenting with a mixed bag, not going great so far. Love the concept, but my 5-7 are my bread and butter on longer holes. Have tried mixing an old set of MB's in with the 100's, CB's with MB's, etc. Funny game this is!

My current bag is Ap1’s 48-5, 818 H1, 917 3w, TS1 driver. I just got refitted for a full bag. I moved into the following

    GT1 driver 10deg - Driver
    GT1 15deg - 3wood
    GT2 21deg - 7wood
    GT1 23deg - 5hybrid (love this club)
    T300 irons - 48 through 6i
    54 SM10
    60 SM10

I highly recommend anyone to get fitted. Do your best to get it done by a titlest fitter on grass. We spent about 2-3 hours going through my bag. Most sessions are only an hour on driver/woods, irons, or wedges. I was lucky cause everyone canceled that day and I was the only one that showed up. I did purchase my woods. I’m holding off on driver for a bit cause I just got a new one. Irons I plan on going to TPI for a refit.

I do not have a split set, but the concept makes sense to me. Hit what works best for you and your game. I was fitted into T150's 4-PW, but I played with the T200 in the 4&5 during the fitting and almost went that way. Coincidentally, I just pulled the trigger on those same T150's this week and will get them on Tuesday. If it works, use it. If it doesn't, find what does.

    Right now, I am playing T200 5-GW with a U505 4 iron. Vokey SM9 54 and 58.
