  1. My putter is the only club I haven't upgraded in my bag. Considering a Scotty Cameron. For those that have done a putter fitting, how useful did you find it? Worth putting in the effort to find a fitter, or just go hit some at a local golf shop and go with what feels best?

The putter is the only club used as much as the ball. Each of us has a unique stroke that will affect what putter is best for you.
Loft, lie, length, weight, and toe flow all make a difference. In your accuracy. I get fit for a putter as the $75-100 dollars fitting fee is my insurance policy.
As a LH putter there aren’t a lot of SC options. Clubs should be fit to you, not the other way around. You might find a different technology not offered from SC is better for you.

I’d definitely get fitted if you have the option. I recently moved from a 35” Newport to a 34” Phantom 7.2. My fitter could see from video that the lie angle and eye position were not best for me and the shorter shaft made alignment a touch easier.
The head shape and neck configuration was not one I would have picked, but again, we were able to test my initial thoughts/ choices against what was actually working best. We improved pace control and stability, and although it wasn’t I expected to walk out with, it’s a better putter for me and that’s what I care about.

I just got fitted at the Scotty Cameron gallery in Encinitas. After the Gallery renovation, they added a longer dedicated section for fittings. My fitter was awesome. He watched me roll some putts, asked a lot of good questions, and we then went to the tape. They have multiple high speed, high fidelity cameras capturing all angles- wormhole, down the line, face on, overhead. You can really see the difference in how the ball reacts off the face and the quality of the roll. We went through a ton of the Scotty lineup. He also offered some very simple yet effective tweaks to my setup and grip strength which made a huge difference. I also could see how a small thing like one inch difference in the length had a knock on effect to where my eyes were relative to the ball. I ended up getting fit into a Studio Select Newport 2 which was a change for me as I typically played a flow neck. The carbon insert felt great. The plumbers neck and the 34" length locked in my setup. I am ordering a MOTO version with some customization, although holding out to find a Circle T version of this as well. Everything from the scheduling, to the fitting, to the service after the fit was well worth it.
