Dropped by my favorite local golf shop on Tuesday on the way to my dentist. Checking out the shop to see what new might have come in. Thought maybe they might have gotten in some new Charleston Aussie hats. Causal conversation led to the large selection of Pro1x left dash balls that had behind the counter. She said they had gotten a good stock in recently and I told her that I really needed to try them out. We discussed their characteristics and decided it might be worth a sleeve for my next round. Interesting to see how it compares to my Prov1s, the AVX, the Prov1 - dot, that I have tried. Weather is perfect. =)

Respect that recommendation. See you in FL?
  4. Have fun Chuck! I migrated from the X to left dash about a year ago and haven't looked back.

Chuck I like the ball a lot!
Only Issue i have is that it's a little firm for me!
I would love to get left dash performance in a ball that feels like Pro V1.

    Cheers,

Dr. K - have you had a crack at the left dot Pro-V1?
  7. Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that the idea behind the left dot?

I tried them and actually love the distance bump! I was expecting them to roll out more but they were stopping within a foot (or less) of landing!! They are definitely firm which I don't have a problem with except putting (I prefer the softer feel of the V1/X). The only issue is finding them (smile), right after I ordered mine (from Titleist) they are "currently out of stock on Titleist.com." It appears though that they will be available again in September.

    Hey Chuck,
I love the firm feel of the left dash ball. It really jumps off the driver. I did have to learn to trust that it would spin around the greens like all other titleist balls.

    Best of luck

Spin has never been an issue for me. Not something I do with my golf balls. Guess I am weird. Am trying to learn to be more of a digger and create some spin on the ball. You can teach an old dog tricks, I think. Drives my coach nuts. =)

I have been playing the Pro V1x left dash my last few rounds VS my Pro V1's.
I like the flight & spin off the irons & window of flight.
From 100yds & in it sticks well on the green.
Feel is what I'm on the fence about, the firmer feel throws me off a bit but all in all I like the ball.
Just not sure it is a replacement ball for my Pro V1.

I'm playing 4 more rounds before I truly decide. I think it is definitely a great alternative ball for me.
I've played the AVX some this year & they are night & day different.
    Soft VS Firm
High green side spin (AVX) vs Good green side spin
Considerably Lower ball flight (AVX) on irons & driver.

The left dash and the SM9s are a great combination. Today I had a 92 yard approach, hit it just short of the pin and it backed up about 15 feet. I’ve never been able to do that before. (Kind of wish I hadn’t in this situation.)

I switched a little over a year ago from the standard X, I love the firm feel, the extra distance, and higher flight. It combined the features I liked about both the standard X and the AVX.

My Spy Golf listed the left dash to be the best ball in not just the “over 105” category (no surprise) but in the “90 and under” as well. Any slower swing players that have compared the X to the left dash X? Curious if this holds up with humans as well as the mechanical arm.

Picked up a sleeve to try out this week. I played yesterday with the longest hitters in our men's group. A former baseball player, who normally hit the ball long. The left dash is definitely long. It worked very well for me and picked up some distance with all my clubs. May have picked up half to full club off the driver. That would equate to 5-10 yards when hit in the center. Even with off center still got good distance. Of course playing with the TSi3 11.50* driver with a Fujikura Speeder 661 TR S shaft. The three way combination seems to work rather well. The irons seemed to pick up a few extra years when hit solid. Have had issues with them. Rode with my coach yesterday and seemed to, by the end of the round, stopped hitting the ball on the second groove. Position and alignment can really affect the distance and accuracy. See how it goes on Friday. No worries getting the ball here. My shop has good supply. So far, I do like and it rolls well on the greens. Good feel. Will continue on with the test to see if I want to go from my Prov1 to the left dash.
