Yesterday while trying the new TSR Hybrids I got to hit the new PROV 1X. I have been playing the 1X because it flies a little higher but I always like the softer feel of the PROV. The new 1X if definitely softer. The clicking sound is diminished if not gone completely. Now I just need to use up my inventory of old PROV 1X's.

That's great to hear! I need to try a sleeve!

Same here. Looking forward to the transition.
  4. That sounds very promising. I love the Pro V1x on full shots, having it be a bit softer for shots around the green would be awesome!

Wow, that’s great news!!! I also play the X but preferred the feel of the prov. I would love it if true.
  6. Agreed, I also like that it maintains a higher spin rate than ProV1 for approach shots.

Much softer and feels great on the putter!

    Cheers, Chris

agreed I bought a sleeve to try and i noticed that right away off the putter
  8. It's meant to be a little softer, like the AVX but has more spin. The opposite to what i've experienced with my AVX where I try and get less spin (due to low attack angle) and a lower flight ball. You can definitely feel the difference.

From what I’ve been reading the 1x looks to be somewhere in the middle of the previous year pro v line up. I think it could be exactly the ball I’m looking for. I can’t wait to try them out.

Softer off the putter face with the same bite from wedge shots, sounds like a winning combination to me!!!
  11. Personally think this is great news. Completely agree that a softer feel on the 1x is a great improvement. Just need the 3 for 1 deal now to stock up!
  12. Which ball has the higher compression, the ProV1 or the ProV1x?? Which has the softer feel between the same two? I changed to the Titleist Tour soft but feel I’ve lost yardage…

The V and the X are both higher compression than the Tour Soft. The X still has the higher compression than the V, but the newer version does feel softer than prior X releases.
The softer Tour Soft comes with 2 differences from the Pro-V lines. Independent reviews from sites like My Spy Golf point out that softer balls just don’t travel as far and 2 piece ionomer balls generate far less spin around greens. With driver speeds under 90 the % loss is not as noticeable and with a 10 year old favorite wedge, spin numbers are similar. So there is a market for old guys with tender wrists and elbows.
The AVX (urethane like the Pro’s) is the softest of the premium balls as an alternative to the Tour Soft. I think it is included with the buy 3 get 1 free if you can try a sleeve to compare to the Tour Soft in the next few weeks.

I’m excited to try the new ones. I’ve been using the the X cause of the higher flight but want to try new PV1 and see how it is compared to the old X

I’m not sure if anyone follows TXG but I love their youtube videos for stuff like this. They tested both the 2023 pro v1 and v1x.
  16. I felt the same. Better for putting for me
