Hi all, I usually play Prov1x during the season. However, I want to use a softer compression ball during the winter season where it gets below 50 degrees here in NY. Has anyone done this and what is your go to balls for the winter? I have tried regular ProV1 but want to try AVX. Yesterday, at 43 degrees, I tried a srxn Q star which is kind of soft and I really liked the feel but the cover was so bad that I had to replace after 9 holes. Has anyone tried AVX for the winter and how do you like them?

Either the AVX or Tour Soft will work in colder weather due to low compression. Unlike the AVX, the Tour Soft does not have a urethane cover.

I used to switch to a softer ball in this weather, however, this past chilly weather(LOL) here on North Shore of LI, i stayed with my PROV1X and found that in the colder temps I am not losing any distance compared with the AVX or Tour Soft. Only loss is attributed to the cold and normal yardage lost.

For performance, all balls lose performance between air temps and layering of clothing. Other than to have softer feel on contact (still less distance) and if handicaps are not valid in your area, your gamer will still perform better. TourSoft and TruFeel are options.
I stay with my X year round.

I use AVX year round in Pennsylvania. No problem in cold weather.

I don't change from ProV1 regardless of the season - find its performance is terrific year round. Just need to lower expectations on distance especially if playing in cold conditions, extra layers. But even then, ProV1 still performs the best!

I am a follower of what Titleist recommends, because it works. Playing the same ball year round in all conditions for consistency. I just add another club plus. if needed, in cold or windy conditions. Prov1s year round. I live on the coast and we experience both conditions.
