Just curious how often you change your fairway woods? I have been playing a 15 degree 904F for about 4 years and 19 degree 980F for longer than that. Both have Titleist Speeder shafts. I don't usually have a lot to spend on equipment, so I get all I can out of them. I know it is probably time to upgrade, but hit I still hit them well, and only hit them at most 3 times a round. Thanks, Bill

replace is such a harsh word, mine have been replaced when they are given to the hs. Until then they still have a chance of making it back in my bag.

Swapping out fairway woods and drivers happens quite often. In the last week I've swapped drivers twice, and replaced 15 and 19* 904F's with a 17* 904F. For next week I'm going to drop drivers altogether and put in 13* 906f2........there won't be much playing next week, or much any week until March, so this is probably how the bag will stay thru the winter. Of course if I happen to find a 13* 904F w/ys6+ stiff over the winter I will replace the 906.

Most clubs sit for a long time before I decide they will never make it back in my bag.

I sometimes alternate fairway woods/hybrids. My main staples are my Burner 7 wood and Nike 5H. I have a Louisville persimmon 5 wood and 10 wood handy and practice them every now and then (and they hit OK) but I have such a warm fuzzy with my staples that why should I yank them? I did, however, chuck my 3 wood permanently (still had the receipt so I returned it to the store, initially tried out one of those newfangled "Flight Control Technology" 2 iron hybrids and put it in as part of a trade-in for a new Vokey SM 50-08 cc; the 2 iron just got SMOKED by my trusty 7 wood). Don't really need a 3 wood since my driver is 13* and there is only 15 yd diff between the former and my 7W. My bag is pretty simple: driver, one fairway wood, one hybrid, 6-9 irons (the 9 iron is 45 deg), 3 wedges (50,54, 62), two way chipper and putter.

Why change them if they work well? You also aren't going to find even too many newer woods that hit as well as a 980F.
