I am interested in the AP2, 714 Forged Irons.  I've been confused by several advertisers who describe the club as a "Game Improvement" product designed for mid to high handicappers. The same ads describe the AP 2, 712 as being designed for low to mid handicappers. If Dufner and Spieth are using the AP 2 714s, they must be for the better players.. Can anyone clear this up for me.

    thanks

I purchased AP2 714 forged clubs after being fitted for them on a preorder and received them in November 2013.  I purchased a used set in May 2013 to see if I would like the forged clubs.  They were the original 2008 AP2s.  After playing with them for that period of time I realized that they were the club for me.  Prior to purchasing Titleist clubs I was playing Wilson Staff Ci9s, and prior to that cally X16s.....trying to find my nix.......obviously I feel in love with the forged clubs.....I am 67 years old and my handicap is 10 and I really like the feel of the 714s.....I can work the golf ball......when they talk about a mid-handicap, I would assume I fit in that catagory.....the shaft play a big role in this club.....the first set I had were project X 5.5 shafts and now I play  XP95 S300  D2 with a midsize grip and like the clubs, but it is an adjustment period.......I have a clubhead speed of 110 and have to work on my tempo with these new shafts or I will have a tendancy to go left with them....the weather has not been cooperative this year....when my tempo is right.....the ball is on target.....advertising be danged.....go to a authorized fitter and let them tell you if this is what you need.....the AP1 might be the club for you......there are just too many things that go into purchasing a set of quality clubs like Titleist and you want to get it right.....chuck

    Thanks Chuck

I'm going for a fitting on Tues but have been unable to get a Demo set of 714s. They did give me a set of AP2 712s to try and they feel sweet. But I still want to try the 714s they look really great in the photos.  The 712s are Muscle Back but the 714s seem to be a combo of both ("Dual Cavity Back is how I think Titleist describes them.) Is this  correct?

    Thanks again
