I currently have the 913 D2 and I am seriously considering the 915 when it comes out.  I have the RIP Alpha 67g shaft currently and was wondering if any of the newer shafts coming out for the new line will play better than the RIP.

My biggest issue is that I don't get enough carry and the ball seems to just fall from the sky at peak trajectory .... so I get no roll.   So basically my carry distance is as far as it goes ... sometimes plugging or even backing up.  Which means I am putting too much backspin on the ball.  Without going into a Golfsmith and beating balls in the simulator with no "real" help (in my experience the knowledge of the guys in there is lacking) ... are there any suggestions on which shaft to get?  Something to get more carry, roll ... maybe lighter to get more clubhead speed?  Lower the spin rate?

Also, the ARC (Active Recoil Channel) .... will it actually help someone with only a 98 mph swing speed?  Will it actually flex enough to notice a considerable difference?  Or am I just stuck with working on my technique?  I know there is no magic answer to the "distance" question that every golfer wants .... but.  Will the new face help lower my spin rate to notice a considerable difference.

I am sure I will just need to go out and hit it to compare the results.  But I am anxious!  Hoping it works wonders for me!

I appreciate any insight that anyone might have.

    Go Team Titleist!!

@Chris B I would definitely recommend getting to an Advanced Fitter in your area to compare your gamer and get fit got the 915. The ARC and Radial Speed Face will indeed help you! It's Titleist!!! If you seek Titleist fitting I am sure you will be convinced on how this technology will benefit you. You may have seen the "Many Swing Speeds" Titleist video...we all can benefit from Titleist Technology whether it be the ball or clubs and it is delivered to wide range of swing types and speeds. I played the 909D3 9.5 and was fit for a 915D3 7.5 and same shaft - Diamana White. A reduction of spin by 40%, better ball speeds, optimal launch angles and roll which equate to 25-30 yards. Don't sell yourself short. Don't compromise. Go get fit and go into the fitting without expectations or preconceived notions about shafts, numbers, or specs. Just hit the ball and TeamTitleist will do the rest! Good Luck!!

Just got a chance to test out the new Titleist 915 driver!! It was an unbelievable difference from last Titleist driver I own (909 series). In the end  I ended up with 20 yds. more overall than my old driver and straight as an arrow with tremendous hangtime. Every person's swing is like their own fingerprint...unique. I will be ordering a 10.5 degree 915 D2 with a Diamana Whiteboard 70 shaft...stiff...with an A3 setting. If you have a chance to get fitted for one...do it!! It can make a big difference having someone who knows what their doing and an unbiased eye helping. Job well done again Titleist!!

Hi Chris, CoolBreeze is right.  The ARC and the new Radial Speed face can help you  gain some yardage.

Roger Hatcher is over at the 1757 Golf Club and can certainly help you with a shaft and head selection.  He is an Advanced Fitter for us and has his 915 fitting tools already.  703.444.0941

Awesome!  Thanks so much!  I knew this was the place to ask to find out.

Cathi ... thanks for the info.  I will get in touch with Roger at 1757 to schedule a fitting.

Hi Jeremy,  You are not too far from our regional fitting center at Jim Mcleans in Fort Worth.  Kyle Cronkright is the fitter there and one of the most experienced - the number to call for more information and to reserve a time is:  817.303.4370

    Chris,

What shaft did you play previous to the Tour Green? Also, what were your thoughts on the Rogue?

    Thanks,

I hit the 915D2 on Saturday with the Rogue 70 shaft and thought I should have gotten more distance.  I plan on going back for an actual fitting and trying more shafts to see what I really need from the profession this week.  The head is nice looking, but performance is the key.

I'm see a lot great stuff from all! However, don't get too stuck on the shaft for the 915 as the club head is superb! Getting fit for the 915 is key and you're going to see tremendous performance from this club. I think we sometimes psyche ourselves into using a "cool" or "trendy" shaft rather then letting the numbers do your talking for you! There are a myriad of great shafts; so get fit with the best shaft for your personal swing and take your game to new heights! #SwingYourOnSwing #PlayYourGame Just make sure it's #Titleist !

Have to agree with them. I have been hitting the 913 D3 for the past year plus. Went to get fit and try the 915's with Grant a Titleist fitter, and was put into a 915 D2 with Rogue shaft. My spin came down, and ball carry increased an average of 13yds. Can't argue with the science, to me the ball feels like it explodes off that new face. I was able to get the stats from the trackman, but at the same time on the range see the ball flight. Take advantage of the fitting, with the Titleist advanced fitter, you will be very happy. The proof is in the science. Been there, done that.

Chris B, what degree are you hitting. It sounds like you may have to high of a trajectory due to the lie angle of your club head. I use the 913 D2 at 8.5* and I have a solid ball flight for a draw which is my normal ball flight. If your hitting straight in the air and then it lands with no spin you may need to try and change your loft angel possibly. I use to play a fade and have a 10.5 degree and I noticed a very high ball flight with less distance in the end. When i changed to the Phenom X-Stiff shaft and the 8.5 degree set up I can see more distance and roll out when i hit a solid draw with the driver, avg 280-305 so just some suggestions for you to chew on, good luck.

I have a 9.5 degree stiff flex Rip Alpha shaft currently ... set to the C3 setting.  That could possibly be the problem there.  The setting is too high .... so next time I am at the range before my fitting I am going to switch to a more upright & lower launch angle, maybe a C2 or D2 setting.

Thanks for the insight!  I am hoping to get to a fitting soon.  I can't wait to hit the 915.
