Any chance Titleist will be adding this shaft to their custom options for the 909's (and beyond)?...or the UST AXIVCore Tour Green?
Just curious.

Hi Ryan -
Both of these shafts are on our approved shaft list and can be ordered through any Titleist trade partner. You will just need to make sure that the account makes a specific request with the Custom Department for the Tour Green or ATTAS, as these will not be on the standard shaft menu. Your local retailer or golf shop can provide the upcharge to order either of these shafts.
Thanks, Nick -
One other question if you don't mind. I'm also looking at the Project X Tour 7 shaft in a 909D2, but am not real sure as to which flex. My driver swing speed is about 110-113 on average, with a fast tempo and pretty hard load on the downswing - is the 6.5 (7B3) or the 7.0 (7A3) better suited for this? I appreciate your help...and thanks again for your previous response!
Ryan
My apologies for the delayed response. In this particular case of 7.0 versus 6.5, the main difference is just the half flex increase in bending stiffness. The ratio of the tip stiffness to butt stiffness stays the same as the bending stiffness increases, so the flex point does not change. Also this bending stiffness increase does not have any significant effect on torque, so that number stays the same. Lastly, the weight doesn't change because only one or two layers of graphite were changed in the shaft to increase the bending stiffness. This was likely accomplished by substituting higher grade fiber with stiffer properties at the same weight in those two layers. So the stiffness increase but weight stays the same.
So if you have had the chance to hit the 6.5 and want something with a slightly stiffer bend, the 7.0 is your shaft.
No problem with the delay, Nick. Thanks for the response. As an FYI - I ordered the 909 D2 with the Project X 7A3. Hopefully will be here soon...can't wait to play it!!!
