I am looking at purchasing new Titleist driver. See there are a 915 D2 and D3 versions. What is the difference between the D2 and D3?

Hi Gene,
Thanks for the post.
The main difference between the D2 and D3 is look. The D2 is a larger head with a shallower face designed to produce a slightly higher flight. The D3 is a smaller, more pear shape head with a deeper face.
I would strongly suggest trying both clubs out first.
Hope this helps.

I agree with Bubba. I recently went from a 910D3 to a 915D2. I do like the height that I am getting with the 915. Lower spin produces more distance with the 915. I decided to keep my 910 as a reserve. Both are great drivers and produce great distance for me. Please see a fitter and get the right shaft to match the head.

Hi Bubba,
I have been playing the 915 d3 8.5* since day one (Nov 3) when it was relased and I came from a 913 D2 and i have not really seen a ball flight change. My last one was also a 8.5* as well. Does the swing determine the ball flight of the different clubs by Titliest. Just wondering with the new 915 and the smaller club head, i seemed to be able to work the ball a little more right to left for my normal draw and with certain swing patterns i can get down the fairway with a workable fade. My questions is with the different dimemsions is there a way to adjust the club to a more lower ball flight. Suggestions

Hi Jeff,
The best way to lower the ball flight of your current driver is to adjust the surefit settings. Try any of the settings that reduce the loft. This should lower ball flight through launch and spin. I am always a proponent of the idea that the club should fit the swing, not vice versa.
Let us know if this helps.

Gene,
I also agree with the above......get fitted, no matter where it is from.....basic specs on the monitor will help you pick driver models and shaft options.
I recently purchased my 915 Driver from GolfSmith and with a 30 min basic fitting was very happy with my purchase. I originally was thinking the 915D2....based on it being larger, more forgiving and higher launching......after my fitting to my surprise I ended with the 915D3 9.5 degree with a Mitsubishi Diamana S60 blue in stiff. Happy guy now =)

i don't get the chance to play very often, working in golf they don't tell you that haha. So in my experience i have had the 910 D2 and the 913 D3 and found the D3 harder to hit. Not in a bad way but I felt like I had to try harder but it was more rewarding. So given my lack of playing time now, i opted for the D2, its a bigger head and a lot more reassuring to look down at if you haven't hit a driver in a week or so.
Hope this helps

I really like the look and feel of the 915d3 head. I am playing at about a 12 handicap right now. There doesn't seem to be that much difference in the foregiveness. What would you recommend for my handicap? Thanks, Greg
