Am considering getting fit for a Titleist Driver. Have always heard that Titleist Drivers are not forgiving at all. Does anyone know how forgiving the 909D-Comp Driver is???

I love this driver...I think it's fairly forgiving compared to my previous R7 TP Driver, and I can still control the ball flight like I wasn't able to do with my R7 unless I tinkered with the weights. If you are looking for launch this is the driver to go for. I also tried the Taylor Made Speedline and I definitely prefer the DComp. The Ozik Matrix X-con shaft is one of the best shafts I've hit in a while too, I am a HUGE FUJIKURA fan, but this shaft has flex while giving you the stability of a steel shaft...great club partnered with a good shaft...I recommend this to any mid to low handicapper.
As far as launch, are you saying that it has a high launch? I just don't want something that balloons on me...
I've tried the DComp and the D2 with 5 different shafts on each off the 909 line and I liked the DComp because it was more forgiving even though it launched higher. I mean you can always adjust the launch with the shaft and loft of the club. If your concerned about launch then get a shaft with a higher kick point. In my opinion I like the Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 shaft because it gives me the launches I want. You just have to find a shaft combination that works for you...and that means getting on a launch monitor with multiple shafts with the same club head...If your a high handicapper then I would suggest going w/ the Comp because of the carry. It also depends on the swing speed. If you swing NORMALLY around 85 mph then go w/ a 9 degree DComp I wouldn't even think about getting the D2 or the D3 unless swing speeds of 90+ are reachable. My swing speed with a driver is around the high 90's (100 on a good day) and I still got the DComp because of the flexibility I have with the club. I just feel like a driver should do the work FOR you, and not the other way around.

Just spent the afternoon on a flight simulator. I loved both the DComp and D2. Swing speed is 105-110. With stock staff both drove clubs petty much the same. On the Dcomp with the Xcon-5 shaft the ball was starting the balloon and reach uncomfortable heights, the carry stayed in the 270 yard range, but the spin consistently got into the 4000_ range with excessive launch angle. With the D2, using the stock Voodoo shaft the flight, both the spin and launch angle seemed more controlled. I would have loved to have tried the Xcon-6 shaft on the Dcomp. Thus, choose the D2. Only conclusion was they match the competition and need to all be tried in a controlled environment.
