I'm seriously considering cutting 1-1.5" off my D2's Rogue Silver 60 (69g) shaft (from 45" to 43.5-44"). Key data points for me are my miss is a right push, but can still get the ball out there a decent bit (255-260yds). As a shorter guy (5' 7"), will a shaft tweak like this help straighten out my miss without sacrificing distance? I'd also take any recommendations on where in San Diego County to get this done properly!!

From what I understand cutting the length is going to effect your swing weight so I'd be very careful before cutting. Obviously, work with someone very knowledgeable on the subject.
  3. I would start at .5" and then go to 1" and so on....easier to shorten further than the other way around!

Also, yes a shaft shortening should help you make more consistent impact with the ball. That is why so many pga tour pros use 44.5" drivers...

Thanks, Chris! Makes sense to start with the .5" adjustments and work my way down. Great point!!

Since titanium heads came along and shafts got longer and longer I've always cut down my shafts. The swingweight changes and I've used leadtape to correct it . I'm more consistent with my driver I think because of the shorter shaft. More on center hits means more consistent distance.
