I am a long time player of Titleist and Footjoy equipment, and I absolutely love myTitleist 690.MB irons (3-P). After several years now of playing them (I bought them new), they are pretty worn, and I'm looking for new Titleist irons that are most like them in terms of length, lie, and loft but want to stay with the Titleist brand.

What suggestions do you have for me?

Hi Pat, ...undoubtedly, I believe you would be best suited with the Titleist 716 MB's. It's an absolutely gorgeous club -- the epitome of what an iron should look like (at least when I was a kid growing up, blades/muscle backs, etc. were all we had as the perimeter weighted clubs just started coming out).

Go see your favourite or nearest Titleist fitter -- preferably with an outdoor hitting bay off of turf and with a trackman and "have at it"! You will have lots of options for shafts to consider, etc. and you should find the optimal set up to suit your game.

They can set them up to meet your needs regarding length, lie and loft. The outdoor testing allows you to feel the turf interaction and experience the varying ball flights too. Then there is the valuable data that you get from the Trackman as well!

All the best Pat and would love to hear more about your journey to new clubs too! :).

That's an easy question, the 716 MB are the most similar to the 690 MB, but you can also try the 716 T-MB which are the newest addition to the MB family.

Try the CB and MB from the 716 line. They would both be a suitable replacement. I would also try the AP2, it is a great feeling club.

Your best bet would be to find a fitter and go through the fitting process with an open mind. You may find that you get a mixed set that will help you shoot even lower scores!
  5. I do not think you will be disappointed with the new 716 MB's .... they are similar in many ways!
