  1. Just got a new 915D3 9.5 and I can't wait to try it out. Any feedback on how the 915 compares to the new 917 drivers? Was strongly considering buying a 917.

I too, would like some comparison. i'm hitting my 915D2 really well right now but with new technology, i can always use the extra yards.
  3. Let me know your findings. I just acquired a 904F 3 (15d) & a 5 metal (19d) while visiting my kids in Boise. Looking forward to test it against my RBZ 3w. I'm looking for a D3 model head of only. I have a AJ Tech Z42 Shaft to install in all three. Maybe replace my TM.

The 915 is a great club, I was between the two and my facility has an outdoor hitting range with a trackman. I was able to get a lower spin rate with the 917, about 300-350 on average between the 915 D2 and the 917 D2. My smash factor increased from 1.43 with the 915 to 1.45 with the 917 so I was hitting it more solid and my misses were tighter together with the 917. One of the biggest things for me was the new diamana white board shaft and head weight to the 917, it was much more solid as my swing speed averages 128mph so I can really feel it if a shaft is not low torque. Over all there were slight gains for me with the 917 as I had the 915 previous, I won't be looking back at the decision to switch to the 917!

I moved from a 913 to the 917. The 915 didn't get me enough, but with a fitting at Oceanside for a really different shaft and the unbelievable forgiveness of the 917, I got 20 yards and the sound is really solid. If I had picked my own to buy without an outdoor fitting, I might have left most of those 20 yards on the rack.

I play the 915D2 last 2 years and hit it well. Tried the 917 and got 5-10 yds more but not enough to drop the $$$ on it.
  7. I have played the 917 d3 since it came out hade it preorded and before that i was playing the 915 d3. In my case the 917 have much more feeling and gives you the feeling you can control the ball flight easier. The best thing about the 917 is that miss hits almost always isnot that bad what they probably should be! ;)
Carry with the 915d3 i hade an average of 261 yard, and the carry with the 917 d3 have been about 267 yard. So in carry the 917 didnot make me disappointed but the real diffrens for me is the roll i gett in the 917, and average drive with 915 wos about 273yard so about 12 yard roll. But with the 917d3 the average lenth is 284yard so about 17yards roll meaning i gained 11yard after i started using the 917.
The surefit CG is fitted for me in 14gram draw position and is an awesome feature that works for me.
    These number are from flightscope.
    I play the 917 d3 9.5 with Fujukura speeder pro 74 tour spec X
So 915 is excellent driver but the 917 gives you more!

I had the 915D3 for quite a while and was fit for the 917D3. The sound and feel are much better on the 917, and I really like the new Liquid Slate gray color. Distance is a little more on the 917, mainly due to lower spin, for me at least. The accuracy and consistency are what won me over, point and shoot.

I just made the switch from the 915D3 to the 917D3 when the new drivers became available. I personally love the 917 and I did not think it would be that much of a difference. Not sure if it's because of the shaft or the head itself but I am getting visibly less spin. I switched from the Diamana D+ 60X to the new Diamana LTD White 70X and I shortened my 917 to 44.25 from 44.5 that my 915 was playing at. Been hitting the ball decent lately so I haven't had any experience playing with the weights to adjust the ball flight. Right now I'm just using the standard weight. Good luck with your new purchase! Enjoy!

I have the 910, 913, 915 & now the 917 D3. The 917 is by far the best out of the entire lineup. The sound is so much better than the 915. And once you get dialed in with the adjustments, it just launches the ball. I have the utmost confidence stepping on the tee with this bad boy. Paired with my Matrix M5 Black Tie Prototype ... killer combination.
IMO ... you should have spent the extra $$ on the 917.
  12. Thanks to everyone that responded to inquiry. Great insight from the many that have experience with both the 915 and new 917. I may just have to spend the extra dough on a 917 myself, but "baby needs a new pair of shoes" if you know what I mean‍‍
  13. Also, I'm new to team titleist. Is it customary for ppl to send and request friends, or does that matter?
