Shaft/SureFit Compatibility between 915 Drivers, 915 FW, and 816 Hy

    Hello,

    I've been wanting to experiment a little with my bag. With pros finding success with shorter drivers (not to mention my driver and fw getting a little erratic as of late) and me not wanting to waste a lot of money tinkering, I got an idea.

    Here are my woods: 915D3 driver 915F 3wood 816H2 hybrid

    Instead of cutting shafts down (perhaps to only replace them again at full length), is it possible that I could put the 3wood shaft in my driver and the hybrid shaft in my 3wood? Are either of these tweaks possible with the stock surefit hosels of the respective clubs?

    Unfortunately the surfeit hosels are not interchangeable, driver is longer in length, hybrid is wider/thicker, I already tried this a while back for the same reason.

    Hello JWolf unfortunately you can not put your 3 wood shaft in you driver it's a different adapter all together I do believe you can switch your 3 wood and hybrid though good luck hope it helps

    Great idea to try...but it won't work. The driver, fairway and hybrid adapters are all different. I have recently started the same thing...and so far, with the driver and 3 wood shaft an inch shorter...doesn't look like I've lost anything but I have improved striking and accuracy. Hybrids are next...

    The driver, woods, and hybrids are all different adapters. You can share across releases (D2 for 910/913/915/917) but not between functional types. You can choke down to generally get the idea before cutting. Since the pros are looking to gain accuracy, they are willing to sacrifice some distance. In my case, my fitter went up a half inch on a 5W (3W shaft) since my primary use is off a tee for longer par 3s. Lots of ways to find the best fit for each of us.

    Unfortunately, the Surefit adapters are not interchangeable between the 915D, 915F, and 816H; each one is distinct.

    For the 915D, you can use an older Surefit adapter from a 910D, 910F/Fd, 913D.

    For the 915F, you can use a 913F adapter.

    For the 816H, you can use a 915H/Hd adapter, but the loft angle settings are larger.

    Hello,

    The adaptors on the Drivers are different to the FW woods, I am not sure about the Hybrids.
