Titleist "Standard" Swingweight

    Just looking for clarification on the standard/stock and/or ideal/recommended SW in Titleist clubs. I see that the Titleist C16 & 716 AP1 irons are D1 and the 716 AP2, CB, MB, and T-MB are D2. The 816 H1 and H2 are both D2. The 917 D's and F's aren't listed.

    Am I correct in assuming that the D1 SW in the C16 and AP1 is lighter due to being a more GI club whereas the others are a bit heavier?

    Also, if those are the "standards" for the irons, what are the "standards" for the woods?

    Hi Drew,

    Swing weight is a relative measurement of how heavy or light the club head feels to the player, so optimal swing weight is subjective to the individual.

    Swing weight changes with the manipulation of head weight, shaft type, shaft length, shaft weight, and grip weight. Our standard swing weights for AP1 and C16 are one point lighter because of the balance point and total weights of the stock shafts. AP2, CB, and MB use heavier stock shafts and thus build standard at D2.

    Our metal wood swing weights also change based upon the shaft used which is why standard swing weight is not listed for the driver. We can build to multiple swing weights with our metal woods by changing the weight used in the head, so please specify the exact swing weight you desire when the order is placed.
