    Singapore,

Will there be a performance change due to different driver head weight?

I'm currently using 915D2 (8.5) with a Tour AD MJ5R1 shaft. Intend to use the same shaft with 917D2.

  2. Cavin,

There is always a different performance from model to model for drivers as you can imagine. However the new weights for the 917 ensure the level of customization is even higher than before with the 915 model. The 917 weight allows neutral, fade and draw capabilities above and beyond the 915. Interesting enough at a recent fitting at TPI Oceanside (The tour fitting facility on the west coast for Titleist) my fitter indicated this was going to be a game changer in his opinion. Now having played with the driver for the last 4 months I have to agree...it is head and shoulders above the 915 IMHO!

    Good Luck!

I was there when Chris was. Mine was a game changer before I even left the range. However, it was a whole different skill to fit it correctly. Carrying over the shaft and loft from the prior driver was not even close to an optimal outcome. Besides adjusting the weight position and size, you can also specify the desired swing weight.

    Singapore,

Thanks Don, I have never thought of swing weigh as a deciding factor, great idea.
