Hi TT, What’s the actual difference between tour issue heads and heads the general public buy from shops ? Is it just tighter tolerances they’re made to ? Are the heads the players have identifiable to them, as in Titleist know who they’re issued to or is it just random T serial numbers ? Really interested in this as I’ve been lucky to have acquired some ?

    Regards Gary

The head weights and lofts are specifically taylored to the player that is having the club built for them. For example, an 8* driver head for a tour player could have a loft of 8.7* and set at 2* open, hot melt added to add weight to it and dampen sound.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure all Tour Issue iron heads have serial numbers etched on the hosel, whereas store/Pro Shop irons only have a serial number on the 6 iron.

    Sorry
I didn't read "Drivers/ Fairway" topic. Assumed it was irons.....lol Looks like Andrew explained it.
