Loft issues with new Irons

  1. First off, I couldn't be happier with my new 718 AP2 irons. I just love the feel of them, but the distance I was expecting where I thought it would be. I placed the order through a private club with the specifications given to me via the Titleist fitting I had. Basically I wanted the 5-PW 1 degree strong. After a month and a half I had it and needed to find out if I'm either very short or the clubs are wrong. I took them to a Titleist fitter to have the lofts checked and to my surprise they were all bent 1 degree week and the PW was 2! Now I know why my yardages were so far off. I did have them bent to the spec's that I thought I ordered.

My question is: Based on the serial number, if I ever have to have a club replaced what will the loft be? Was the order sent in wrong or were they bent wrong?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I would e-mail Titleist customer service (if they did the rebend) to confirm whether the correct lofts have been recorder/linked to the serial # or if they didn't do the rebend ask them to link the desired specs to the serial #.

Hi Andrew, If the order was placed at 1° strong, we would have been built at 1° strong. The builders calibrate every morning and lies, lofts are digitally measured to the center of the club using lasers as well as high speed cameras from all angles. We are always happy to bring in the set to check any issues and would recommend doing that before having someone bend them. Give us a call at 888-TITLEIST.
If the order was placed at 1 strong and your serial number reflects that, that is what the replacement club would be built at.
  4. Thank you for the follow-up Cathi. I will call tomorrow and go from there.

Andrew, for piece of mind, if Titleist is offering to check them again then take them up on it. Best of Luck!
