With some TT members already being fit and hundreds of others slated for TSi fittings next week, this thread is the place for TT members to share their experience with the new drivers and fairways.

We will try to keep this thread clean by only approving responses from members who have experienced a TSi fitting. If you have a question specific to someone's experience, please reply to their post directly. Otherwise, all other replies that are not fitting reviews will be directed to the New Titleist TSi Drivers thread

  2. I was very lucky recently to attend a demo of the new TSi Drivers and Fairway Metals at Medinah Country Club in Chicago. I have been very happy with my current TS2 clubs so I was scratching my head how Titleist could possibly make a major improvement. To my surprise they have a new winner without question! I have posted a variety of pictures on my Instagram Account under @Chris92009 if you wish to see more (I had some problems uploading on this thread pics so I apologize for the inconvenience).

Here is a Short Review of the new Titleist TSi Clubs from my demo experience, I hope you get some value from my day; TSi Thoughts: I thought we would examine three categories 1.Looks, 2. Feel/Sound, and 3. Bottomline Impressions. 1. Looks: TSi2/TSi3 are both gorgeous and for faders of the ball on the TSi3 the toe area is open in appearance since it is rounded beautifully. My initial impression is that the looks are amazing and a huge step up over the TS and 917 prior “gen” clubs that sometimes looked closed at address. Home run for Titleist here! 2. Feel/Sound: This where the home run turns into a grand slam...in the past they have made improvements but this driver is out of the park amazing. I would describe the sound as a “crunch” feeling like I am really compressing the ball on a serious launch! The track man numbers confirm this as true! It almost sounds/feel you are really compressing the ball and it is shooting with enormous speed off the face. Bottomline: This driver and fairway metal are going into my bag immediately! I could not believe how much less the dispersion is on the TSi vs TS and how much farther they go!

Hopefully, if you have not already, you will have a chance to demo these gorgeous clubs and you will have similar thoughts...regardless I think these are an improvement over the TS and definitely over 917/915 drivers and fairway metals.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Sand Valley in early October and Bandon Dunes later in October!

    Cheers, Chris

Now that I have had a few months to play with my new TSi 2 Driver (10 degree) and TSi 2 Fairway Metal (16.5 degree) here are some updates.

First, the length on both is amazing. At Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, I drove three par fours (from the same tee boxes I normally play) and have never done that before! Holes 2, 10 and 15. Furthermore, at my home course I have been driving the ball into places I have not seen before...simply incredible what Titleist has done.

Second, I have noticed my dispersion is much TIGHTER than ever before with a driver. It is interesting that I am driving and hitting my fairway metal much better than the TS 2 Driver an TS 2 Fairway metal. I did not expect this to happen.

Third, the TSi 2 Fairway metal is so EASY to hit off the turf. It is the first fairway club I can easily hit from just about any lie in the fairway or light rough. Great club, I am wondering where has it been all these years!

Lastly, the sound, appearance and feel of the new clubs is simply awesome. I really enjoy all these aspects from these new clubs. I thought the TS clubs were great the way they felt but the TSi is the new king !

    Hope this helps, Cheers...

I had a demo with and played a round with TSi2 driver and fairway. The experience was the most fun I’ve had in years. My 915 was good for 240 at best. Bombed one 260 and one 270. Both on order. All smiles again!

I see a ball speed increase of about 5 MPH with spin rates of about 1900 RPM. Using the shaft out of my old TS2. The spin dropped about 300 RPM.

So I played the TS3 when it first came out but later switched to the SIM and I'm gaming the TSI3 with LAGOLF TRONO 65TX the Bryson shaft. The biggest thing I have noticed is how soft the face feels when you hit it. I play an extremely firm ball the ProV1 X left dash and the face still feels buttery soft. I will say get fitted with the new face it feels different and spin numbers will be different for what the TS produces.
  9. I have the TS3 currently , I stopped in Golf Galaxy today and hit the TSi3 , it hit very well... I like the weight in the head adjustment option , no more cartridge type weight they have followed suit with other mfgs and have the sliding style weight . I hit it 20 30 yards further than the TS3 ..... I'll be picking one up this weekend

I had the TS3 for over a year, and for the TSi3 on launch day. It is 10-15 yards longer with the same shaft. I love the look with rounded toe, and the feel is the best Titleist driver to date.

I am completely happy, excellent driver.

Brian just did my fitting and as usual it was an amazing experience, Great new club.
  13. Did a fitting a few weeks ago at TXG, this thing is a rocket. The spin numbers were great and dispersion very tight. It was really nice to look down and see the new face, it really frames the ball well and gives confidence. I ended up going with a TSI3 9 degree with Ventus Blue 6S.
  14. Did my fitting a few Thursdays ago. Currently was playing TS 2 but fit into a TSi3 with a GD shaft ($200 upcharge is reasonable to me). The fitting was amazing as i picked up ball speed and launch. Decent angle was much better and confirmed the extra carry. The other comments are spot on. The face feel and sound are like nothing else before it. Results may vary but well worth the time and money to get a new driver.

Greetings, first post. I registered specifically to review this club, because it deserves it. This is a truly phenomenal club.

As a background, I have historically not used Titleist clubs. I am what one would consider a png dude. This is not out of any animus towards Titleist, it just happened that way because png has everything in left-handed. Hopefully one will read that thinking that my review is objective, which it is.

My handicap that fluctuates between 2.x and 4.x.

    This is my current composition:

1W - png G400, 10.5 delofted to 9.5, Ventus Blue 6-X. Tipped 3/4" and OAL is 44.75". Fitted, but I have a little bit of lead tape on it. 5W - TM Sim with the V-steel plate on the bottom. Standard shaft which is black Diamana and has a flower on it. It is delofted from 19 to 17. Not Fitted 3-AW (PW is 45 and AW is 50) png i500, black dot, Dynamic Gold S300. Fitted. png Glide 3.0 56 wedge. png Arna putter, fitted or TM Spider X, not fitted (green speed dictates which one I use). All clubs have Jumbomax small Tour grips on them.

For the record, I do have several Titleist clubs. I have a 975D from back in the day, which was awesome. I have a Cameron Newport 2 Pro Platinum from 2002 with original grip even. I do not use it because for some reason Anser-style putters and I don't seem to agree with each other. It took me a while to figure out. I would rate it as a great putter even though the head style is wrong for me. As a side note, it rusted. Should I leave it as-is or restore it at some point?

I will do several posts to review the TSi3 that I received today. I received a TSi3 today from TGW. It is left-handed, 9-degree, Tensei White Stiff. It is entirely stock and not customized at all.

I was in court all day and traveled back home to barely make it to a Top Tracer league as a fill in for a friend. I pulled it out of the box when I got there. So, I had never hit it before. I had however, hit a playing partner's TSi3 with the Tensei Blue and it felt really good ON THE VERY FIRST SHOT even though it was totally the wrong shaft for me. I hit maybe six shots that day with it and they all felt effortless. Instant sale. I bought this one when I saw TGW had a lefty in stock. Tensei white was my only choice, so I obviously went with that. I figured at worst I would have to go to for a shaft fitting.

I hit three warm up shots and then the league started. In all, I hit it about 15-20 times tonight. Conditions were harsh. It is about 30 degrees and the wind was about 20 mph directly into the Top Tracer building.

    Observations:

    1. This club is the easiest swinging driver I have ever had, bar none. The G400 is smooth, but I did a lot of modification to it to get it that way and most of that is frankly to the credit of the Ventus shaft. The TSi3 is stupidly smooth and my stroke with it is effortless. I have no idea why. It just works. 2. This club is hard to mishit, in that it has very good dispersion and is easy to strike in the center of the face. I had no significantly errant shots. My common miss is to get fast with my hips because they were open in relation intended line, which generally produces an over-the-top pull that is straight, but offline to the right (to a rightie's left) for me. 3. This is a very attractive club. 4. It has a very neutral setup. It suits my eye very well, which I have learned is extremely important. Closed face drivers (read SIM and the like) are a struggle for me. 5. No balls "spun-up" into the wind. Flight penetrated the wind, which was certainly a two-club headwind. That is just excellent. One criticism with the G400 is that it can spin up if I am not careful. I have a positive AofA at about three degrees on average. 6. The Tensei White stiff shaft was firm (a good thing for me -- I do not like a whippy feel) 7. Qualify of manufacture appears to be top notch. This is a complaint with respect to Taylor Made in particular. My Spider X putter has paint chipping despite my excellent care of it. I am a headcover on irons guy if that gives one an idea of how I cared for it. 8. Distance is better than the G400 by a considerable amount. I will quantify that later.

At this point, I don't think I will need to modify except for the grip size. It worked extremely well out-of-the-box, so to speak.

I will do a followup where I go to Top Tracer and get some actual data. I plan to do 15 shots with each the TSi3, G400 and G410, alternating each shot, and not cherry-picking shots. I'll post that as my second review post.

My only complaint is that it came with neither a tool, nor a manual for the settings, which I have no idea how the hosel settings work. I think it came default at D1, whatever that means (I assume that is stated loft and lie). No offense is intended, but the png hosel is pretty intuitive to use. I'll download a chart of the settings somewhere. The overall point there is that it should have come with both. It is a bit bush-league that it did not, particularly considering the cost. Is it fair to assume that any torque-tool will work (i.e., a png or TM one) and apply the proper torque?

That's all I have for now and I hope that is helpful in some way.

  16. Got fit a few weeks back and put a TSi3 in the bag. 10 degree, c4 setting, toe weighing, GD Tour AD6 in Stiff. Carry distance, ball speed and angle of decent all much better. 100% agree with your comments.

Okay, as promised, some data. Clear MPH increase with essentially unchanged swing speed between the TSi3 and one of the other clubs. The Tensei White is a bit low launching for me. I am going to try other shafts in it that will be higher launching.

    docs.google.com/.../edit

It is going to be 55 tomorrow, so this will be my first real golf with it. Expecting good things. Did a Top Tracer scramble for black friday and I only had one bad drive, which was not the club's fault. It was my fault. I started with the low launch you can see in that spreadsheet, but it came up. Getting some more data Sunday. Short summary:

Club SS BS Efficiency Curve Angle Height Carry Distance
    TSi3 100.70 148.60 1.476 30.60 10.20 65.50 234.90 276.20
    G400 100.40 146.80 1.462 3.60 15.00 100.60 240.40 264.60
    G410 102.40 146.60 1.432 -16.80 12.90 82.10 235.80 267.40

Hopefully that formats right, but looks nice in the linked spreadsheet. This was a very bad weather day (rain/flurries and a two-club wind in the face and 40 degrees) and I was not striking the ball the best due to the cold, wind, and their combined effect on me achieving the ability to be fully warmed up. But, nonetheless the difference was there and it is not trivial. Curve and Height are in Feet.

On the curve, these three clubs have different grips. The TSi3 has the standard grip, which is too small and as a result I tend to draw. The second club has a Winn Oversise DriTac with 2 wraps. The third club has a Jumbomax small on it. My ultimate conclusion here is that the DriTac size is about right. The Jumbomax is too large, but it is awesome for every other club in the bag. One other note is that the shaft in the TSi3 is too long at standard -- the other clubs have been trimmed by 3/4 of an inch. On the TSi3, I think I need to trim 1/2 of an inch, judging from the strike pattern on the face.

That is another thing, the fact that you can easily see your strike pattern on this club is totally awesome! No regrets on the purchase. Dynamite club.

I found the manual for the adapter, so thanks for that tip. D4 appears to be standard, so that is what the factory setting was. I haven't goofed around with that at all.

I’ve been fitted for a TSi3 Driver, which should be arriving this week.
As soon as I picked it up & hit a few balls, I knew I had to have it.
All reviews to date have nothing but praise for the new TSi range of drivers!

My Review to follow hopefully later this week..

  19. I recently was fitted for and purchased the TSi 2 driver. I went into a local big box store assuming I would fit into the TSi 3, but through testing it was obvious the TSi 2 fit me the best. I watch all the YouTube channels and read through club reviews on the 2 drivers. The recurring comments were that the TSi3 would mostly fit/appeal to your low handicaps.

I was surprised the TSi2 was my better option. I am a 2-3 handicap and play blades irons down to the 5 iron. I am a really good ball striker with irons but sometimes struggle with strikes on the driver. Generally, I swing driver just over 100mph and can sometimes push it to 105. My typical shot shape with driver is straight or slight fade. I also hit up on the ball with driver so I typically don’t struggle with too much spin on the driver.

During my fitting I was consistently getting 250 carry and roll out to 280+, great numbers for my better than avg swing speed. Spin stayed in the 2200 range and all other key stats were optimal. The deciding factors on choosing the TSi2 over the 3 was: (1) the ridiculously tight dispersion and (2) forgiveness on miss hits. The eye opener was one miss hit. I thought I completely lost one right and was expecting high spin and loss of distance. That shot still went 270 with 2700 spin and was only about 20 yards right of center line.

I loved the TSi3 look and feel. It was slightly longer for me, maybe 5 yards, but my miss hits were punished more and I did not have the tight dispersion experienced with the TSi2. Using the same shaft on each head I just found it easier to square the face and hit middle of the face with the TSi2. Very surprised by this, but the results don’t lie. The shaft I ended up with was the Tensei Raw Blue 55 stiff flex, set at A1 on a 10 degree head.

I have since hit the driver at my local range and used it at our Top Tracer here in Omaha at a local course. Similar results...crazy straight drives with tight dispersion. Top Tracer showed similar stats I mentioned earlier and ball speeds stayed in the 147-153 range, so I’m getting at or close to 1.5 smash factor on my drives. I’m excited to get this out in the course when the weather gets better and also plug in a Ventus Velocore Blue shaft I used with a previous driver to see if I can get even better numbers. That shaft is the real deal.

My key point I want to make is don’t go in for a fitting without giving both the 2 and 3 a test run. You may be surprised. It’s easy to pick the club that goes the farthest on the launch monitor, but golf is a game that you want play in the fairway. I know I will find a lot more fairways with my new TSi2 driver and not be giving up any yards distance wise.

Hats off to Titleist Engineers & Designers, they have done an outstanding job on the new TSi Woods. The TSi2 Driver Sounds prefect, the rolled toe sets the club perfectly at address. They also got a few more yards, as well as forgiveness. The driver is stunning at address, and inspires confidence, finding more fairways, with 8-10 more yards. The Fairway Metals are the best Titleist has brought to the market. Have been so impressed with these clubs, now came back to a full bag of Titleist equipment. Paid the price for CNCPT 04, and worth every penny, again the Engineers & Designers have produced a great iron, that LOOKS awesome. Would like to see the next generation of Titleist irons incorporate some of the cosmetic designs into the new line. Was not a fan the T200 T300 looks, or feel. So wandered away to another T company. Now, back and extremely pleased with every aspect of my bag. Thanks Titleist

  21. Love love love my new Tsi 3. So solid and sounds amazing!!! Gained about 15 yards of carry!!! Now to replace a TM 3 wood with the new tsi 3 wood! Oh not to mention the T200’s Vokey SM7’s U-500 2 iron and my trusty Futura.
  22. About a month ago I was fit for the new TSi3 driver and was really amazed at the results. I really felt like the person doing my fitting was very knowledgeable and did a great job optimizing my numbers. I had never really been fit on a trackman before and I'm not sure that I'll ever go back. The fitting really answered a lot of questions that I had about how my driver should be set up. I went from 9.5* to 8* and now feel free to swing up on the golf ball and the flight doesn't get away from me. Went from a Stiff to an X flex shaft, I have the Tensi White. My setup is actually a half in short and I have a larger weight in the head. Needless to say, I gained about 25 yards with the TSi3 set up. My old set up was a 915d3 with a stiff shaft.

Sorry been a bit busy the past month and just getting caught up on the site. Had my TSi fitting in mid October and recieved the driver during launch week.

It was a great fitting. I had been hitting a TS1 and I felt I was getting too much spin. The LM confirmed that when we got my baseline numbers. Spin in the 2900 to 3200 range and ball speed in the 115 to 117 range. We settled on the TSi2 head pretty quickly then tried several different shafts.

The best shaft for me was the Kur Kage 50g R1. It brought my spin down to 2600 to 2700, and ball speed--during the fitting was 119 to 120. I have subsequently been getting 121. As a result I've gained about 17 to 18 yards with the TSi2.

    Am very happy with it

Just noticed I posted pics of mu TS1 not TSi2. Uh Duh!! I guess that happens when you have more than one Titleist driver. Ha

  25. Playing the TSi3 with Tour AD IZ shaft. Tried the same set up in the TSi2 and I just got better results with the TSi3. Without the best driver I have gamed in a long time. Has replaced the SIM and is not looking back. Thank you Titleist!
