This is a question for people who have demoed or purchased the New Launch Spec irons. Did the higher lofted clubs reduce your carry distance by any significant amount? I currently play T350s with, for example, a seven iron loft of 29°. These new clubs would have the seven iron at 35° I believe. Wondering what to expect distance-wise when I try these out. Thanks.

I just got back from my fitting at TPI and was fit for T250 Launch Spec. I was in the Gen 3 T350 and always have fought a low ball flight. We did go 1 degree strong and 1/2 inch longer which brought the distance a bit closer to my old irons but more importantly, the height and descent angle was much better. I do not mind occasionally going one more club up if it means hitting it higher and holding a green. Iron play is all about accuracy so I am very happy with the fitting and look forward to getting these soon and dialing in my distances.

I also was close on the launch spec 250s - they look great as well - best fit for me was 350 2 degrees weak

    Female golfer here.

Fitted into the launch spec at TPI.

BTW: Has anyone else heard that they have yet to receive any of the launch spec heads and it will be another 6 weeks? I did not hear this from Titleist, fyi

I am heading from the 400s and had no idea those clubs had such low lofts.

I also was fit one degree stronger.

However, the distance change was not as drastic as I expected. But there surely is a distance change. I am putting more blame on the 400s.

As I get older and was already losing distance to find out the lofts were so different from my 400s was a bit of a womp womp but, I was taking nice divots (tougher to do with the 400s) and the flight on the clubs was great and my accuracy still in place.

I am really looking forward to these clubs and at the same time know it might take some time to learn my new yardages, etc.

An interesting aside from that was the recommendation to pull the 250 Launch AW and swap it to a third Vokey to cover my short distances more effectively.

Bob Vokey was in the house when I was there. Nice to meet him and nice guy as well.

Fitted into the Launch Spec. I had the 2021 T100s. I lost 3 yards of carry when I hit the T100s solid. Launch Spec was more consistent for me.

Apex was higher so overall distance lost was about 10 yards but now that I would be coming into greens from a steeper angle, going to have better looks as birdie as the ball will not release as much.

I’d love to demo these irons. How do we get information to get these sent out to us to test?

Find a local fitter to try out their 7 iron during a fitting event. You will not likely find full sets anywhere for quite a while as Titleist is busy meeting custom set build demand. Then they will have retail sets produced for big box stores and pro shops. Only then might some locations have full rental sets. A rental set with stock shafts might not give you great results and could turn you off of a potential iron head. Always best to go the personal fitting route. Good luck.

    Hey John,

It all depends on the height of your ball and whether you're in a spin surplus or deficit. 29* is closer to a 5 iron in loft so there is a world where you could actually carry the ball further with more loft. It all depends though on your specific golf ball needs. Hope this helps!

I ended up with the 4G T350. But apparently some T250* have shipped. At least RH. My fitter didn’t have the LH fitting head, but we were both satisfied with the results.
That was my complaint with the T400’s as well. They bordered on super game improvement and the PW with the wide base didn’t work for feel shots. At the end of the day, I don’t care about the number on the iron. Just so I know which club to pull for a 120 yard shot and that the next one will cover 130. Hope to know that in the next 2 weeks.

at TPI, the fitter had me hit the 250, launch spec and 350 (currently game 350). He liked the added height due to the loft, but I lost ball speed due to the lighter head. I ended up with the 250s 1/2 in shorter shaft and 2* weak in the loft. They arrived yesterday and they will be in the bag this weekend.

the new T-Series are easy to hit and provide great loft. The new fitting system can adjust the iron +/- 4* for loft and lie.
