I recently completed the T-Series iron fitting with the same fitter that has helped me fill out my bag top to bottom with the exception of my Scotty.

Going into this fitting, which was my first iron fitting since the 2021 T-Series, my current 2023 T-200 irons are not bad but could be better as my game and swing have also changed/improved over the last few years. In addition, I recently turned 40 and while I don't consider myself overly advanced in age by any means the last two years or so I have begun to experience tendonitis in my trail elbow, nothing that has diminished the quality of my game, but it is noticeable post round and the next day to a lesser degree. Now one could argue that is a mechanics issue and they would probably not be wrong as I do have a steep attack angle. But those two things considered, my fitter put me in varying steel shafts to start, I didn't catch all the names, some light and some not, now for reference, I currently have the AMT Black S300 in my irons. Then we moved to the Mitsubishi MMT 105 TX and wow, after a few swings to get used to it, I felt the shaft to be smooth, responsive, and easier to launch with at T-150 set 1 degree weak. Better launch, better apex, better decent, and a softer more responsive feel.

All that said now it's decision time, I have never played graphite shafts in irons and for the money it's a big step. The graphite iron shaft performance arena has grown over the years however it is still a big change, but I will say, the fitting results speak for itself.

As always, I am interested if anyone has had similar experiences.

In the end it was a blended set, 5-6 T-250 (2 deg weak), 7-PW T-150 (1 deg weak), Mitsubishi MMT 105 TX shaft.

Thank you to the Titleist staff for another stellar experience!

  2. If you find a good graphite shaft that works, reduces pain and strain, then that’s a no brainer.
  3. Give the aerotech steelfiber shafts a try. They are graphite, but play more like steel. They do play a little stiff to flex, so the regular shaft will play somewhere between regular and stiff. Best of luck.

I made the move to graphite recently, having played steel shafts forever .I have a set of irons with 108 gram steel shafts, and recently purchased a set with UST Mamiya Recoil F4 graphite shafts. The only issue I had initially with graphite was I felt the shafts were too light and I couldn't feel the club head all that well.

I added some lead tape to my irons and that solved the issue.I"ve picked up significant ball speed and distance
