I’m definitely a Titleist fan boy with exception of irons, why because I can’t swing them during a fitting. I use a mid size grip and a standard grip just doesn’t work. On multiple occasions at 3 different locations I was told they only have standard grips. Besides the obvious cost of have additional shafts/grip combos, is there another reason? Other manufacturers offer midsize grips and I hit those clubs much better during the fittings. Do some shops have different grips sizes? Do the mobile fitters have them? What about at the Performance Institute? Thanks in advance

Even the Titleist sponsored fitters have some limits on the available shafts for multiple weights and flexes, as well as some length variations. Adding in grip size, be it midsized or smaller will generate 50% or more shafts to carry.

Try your club pro to talk to the local Titleist rep. Based on you current shafts and how well they work for you, you might be able tp arrange a separate fitting with a limited number of shafts regripped with mid-size grips for your fitting. I don't know that this can happen, but the answer is no if you don't ask.

I'll guess TPI or Manchester would need to know this in advance as well. Good luck.

I’ve got giant hands as well — I wear a size 14 wedding ring and grip size was really the only limitation during my fittings at the regional Titleist centre.

With the amount of shaft options, flexes, weights, and lengths they cycle through during a fitting, I honestly get why it would be nearly impossible for them to stock everything in midsize.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t notice any negative impact from fitting with standard grips. My irons were built and shipped with midsize +3 wraps, and they performed exactly as expected once I got them in hand.
