Does anyone have anyone have any launch monitor data on the GT280 versus their 3 wood off the deck? I am considering buying a GT280 to replace my 15* TSR2 3 wood. My driver speed is around 98mph but I tend to launch it fairly high. My 3 wood launches around 12.5* off the fairway. The reason I am looking at the mini driver is because I hit my fairway wood 3-4x as often off the tee as I do from the fairway. I am hoping the GT280 is slightly easier to hit off the tee than my fairway wood but still manageable to use from the fairway on Par 5s. If anyone has any data, please share.

I don’t have exact launch monitor numbers comparing the GT280 to a 3 wood off the deck, but I’ve gone through a pretty in-depth Titleist fitting recently and I’ll say this…

If you’re thinking about spending that kind of money, getting fit is huge.

I went in thinking I had a pretty good idea of what I needed, and ended up in something completely different after actually seeing the numbers. Things like launch, spin, descent angle, and even something as simple as length made a massive difference. It’s not just head vs head—it’s the full setup.

The Titleist fitters are unreal too. Super detailed, no pressure, and they actually explain what’s going on instead of just handing you a club and saying “this is better.” It felt more like working with someone who actually cares about your game vs just trying to sell you something.

For your situation, especially if you’re hitting your fairway wood a lot off the tee, the GT280 could make a ton of sense—but whether it works for you off the deck is really going to come down to your delivery and how it fits your numbers.

i didn't keep any data from the GT280 vs my GT1 tour 3wood. I could tell you (for me) it was night and day. the GT1 3w was A LOT easier to hit off the deck and was further. I could barely hit the GT280 off the deck, my 7iron went further
