I am currently playing a 905R 9.5* with an S-flex V2 shaft. I have recently noticed that when I am in my grove and hitting it well, I seem to carry it high and far, around 295, but I get no rollout. Is upgrading to a fitted 910 D3 worth the money? And how do they compare as far as distance? Thanks!

I actually had the exact same setup with my 905 driver as well. I switched to the 909 D3 8.5 with ust proforce v2 76 gram shaft. I definitely was able to lower the ball flight as well as obtaining some rollout. so yes i think if thats the direction you want to go it would be well worth it.

High flight and no roll out could be a spin issue. Launch monitor data will also give you the angle of decent. Shoot for35-40 degrees. If angle of decent is too steep you get no roll . Club head center of gravity has a roll too. For a time everyone produced the high launch-low spin drivers. Ball launches high then just falls out of the sky.You need some spin the keep the ball in the air,too much balloons the shot. Driver fitting incorporates launch angle, ball speed at impact, max height, spin, and angle of decent. I use to think that the shaft was most important factor. I am more convinced now that the head may be more important. If you get the right head charactoristics for a player, several shafts will work. Then it's all about the feel of the shaft for the player. Head adjustment like the sure fit can really dial it in. The 905r is the best driver Titleist has made until the 910 D3. Hard to argue with 295 yards . My guess is you will see even more distance with fitting. You definitely need to see what your 905R does in the monitor. A good fitter will not sell you something if what you have is working.
