DO ANY OF YOU USE ALIGNMENT STICKS IN YOUR PRACTICE ROUTINES?  HOW??

Instead of alignment sticks I will usually take a wedge and place it close to my feet so that I can work on my aim while I'm on the range.

I always have a set in my bag.  Just to check alignment use for drills.

I usually borrow my boss's when i need to use some.  I have a problem taking the club too far inside on the backswing so i place them in the ground and use them as a guide to make sure I take it more straight back.  They can be used in a variety of different ways depending on what you need to work on.

What drills do you do?  I'm thinking of getting a pair and wondering if it's worth it.

I went out and bought some driveway reflectors at the local Lowes. These are identical to the golf version. I've used them for everything from simple alignment at the range to creating the proper path on the practice green. They're fairly inexpensive as I paid $2 per stick. And you can use them for many different drills.

Nice. Does anyone have any specific drills to use theses babies with?

I use these all the time during practice.  On the range I use one to align my feet and lay the other one over at 90 degrees for ball position.  If I'm having trouble lining up I'll use them as railroad tracks. I'll also use them on the putting green for some of the same stuff.

There's a ton of stuff that you can do with the sticks for practice.

Nice that's pretty sweet.  I just found one were you lay your sticks at about 10 and 4 oclock.  On the downswing you try to swing through 4 and towards 10 oclock.  It's good if you slice and struggle with hitting a little draw.

I usually like to use three, If i feel like my ball position is off...I set down two as a cross where the first  alignment is the target line (where the stick clears about an inch behind the hosel) and the second is the ball in relation to your stance. the third I like to use for my stance alignment, I like to move this one in order to shape shots, where I close the stance to draw and open the stance to fade where the first alignment stick remains constant.

I was always told you align your stick on the heels.  Something about allowing your toes and feet to feel comfortable.  Do you use yours on your toes or heels, and why?

I use it on the toes because I can actually see my stance...I understand why you put it at your heels because most people open their stances a little with opening the left foot. To counter this I stand with both my feet perpendicular to the stance line, forget about it, and open my feet to where I feel comfortable...I personally like to have a slightly open stance anyway so my hips can clear. I mean everyone's different in terms of stance so adjust it to your preference...

I only have two sticks, and I use a 3 iron, or whatever club I'm not hitting, on my heels.  I like an open stance for my hips as well.  Anytime I've tried to put an alignment aid on my toes I can't seem to forget about it.

Try using them as gates for a draw or fade. Put them a few yards in front of you on the range and let'er fly.  Don't forget to keep one at your feet for your stance.
