    Most get a blister where they place their hand on the grip, but I did not. I hit more balls than I usually do the other day and got a blister on my right hand (dominant hand) on the right side of my ring finger (the joint above the knuckle). I use an overlap grip, and I was guessing that my ring finger rubbed against my index finger (left hand). Any thoughts on how this happened and how I might prevent another? I know taping might be an option, but would prefer not to.

    Could be your grips, could be anything really. If you try tape, try the one called Golfer's Tape. Works great for me when I need it, which is rare but I always keep it in my bag.

    Buy some golf tape...a range rats best friend!

    Sometimes the seam in the glove can cause this. The most common cause of blisters is that your grip pressure is a bit too high. Loosen your grip up a bit and see if that helps.

    Grip is too tight! Loosen the right hand grip pressure. You should never get blisters in either hand. Something is off in your grip but I would start there.

    I would first try to loosen your grip slightly. Keeping your hands dry is also key, especially on hot/humid days.

    Your not alone, I get the exact same thing! I carry a smooth cloth type tape, seems the glove causes it. I tried no glove and did not have an issue of blisters and actually felt great club control; using #4 velvet grips. The comments of gripping too tight are incorrect for me as a looser grip looses club control thru impact, especially 4 iron type shots. If you find an solution, please let me know?

    A glove causes blisters only if it does not fit correctly. A glove must fit tight to avoid this. I do glove fittings at golf events and most people wear the wrong size gloves. Professionally speaking.

    Consider it part of the obsession of working on your game. If Ben Hogan was alive today he would tell you how many blisters he would have from working on his game.
