On Monday, September 13th, I was playing in our usual Monday Morning Marshalls Group at Flamborough Hills Golf Club in Copetown, Ontario. We were playing the Hills nine first and then the Woods nine. We were playing a Stableford event and I was playing pretty good. Not great. But a little under my handicap. I play from the senior tees as I am 72 years young. We got to hole # 8 which is a Par 3 and the flag was in the front of the green. It was playing right around 155 yards. I hit my 6-iron and it went dead straight at the flag. I saw it land but didn't see it after that. One of my playing partners said he thought it went in. I said "no way". He basically sprinted to the green and looked in the hold. He raised his arms and yelled "Yes! It's in". Wow! I couldn't believe it. My first Hole-In-One! I started playing when I was 40 and had been close a few times, but never in. I ended up getting the closest to the pin $10 award for that and I won the Stableford scoring for my handicap group - $25. The $35 helps pay the $200 I spent for drinks for all the guys in our group. It was a great day!!!!
