On Sunday November 14th, we got our first snow in Cleveland, OH. The golf weather seemed to be behind us for the year. A few days later, we caught a subtle break with temperatures briefly back in the low 60's. I received an invite from a friend to play his country club, and had to shuffle several appointments on my schedule to make it happen. We teed off around noon that day, and it was a typical autumn day in Cleveland; a gray blanket of clouds mixed with 20 mph gusts of wind. As my group approached the 4th hole, the first par 3, the wind was straight in the face. I clubbed up, hoping that I would have enough distance. After I swung, the other three in the group all gave different compliments: "great divot," "that sounded nice," and "nice swing" all seemed to come out simultaneously (not surprising, my swing is far from consistent). The path of the ball never waivered, landed on the green about 5 feet short of the flag and one-hopped into the jar. For everyone in the group, it was the first time actually seeing the ball go in on a hole in one!
