I went to Whitefish, MT (go if you haven't!) with some buddies on a joint 40th golf trip and it was amazing. Beautiful scenery, amazing lake, awesome restaurants, incredible golf and just an overall great place. Our first day was Whitefish Lake GC - North, then South. The 34th hole of the day I hit an 8-iron on a par 3 148 yards; just struck it really well and it tracked straight at the hole, bounced twice, then rolled in the hole. Mayhem ensued afterwards and I got everyone in the clubhouse a beer, then spent $300 at the golf shop (haha). Just an awesome experience. We played Buffalo Hill and Northern Pines, as well; both worth playing.
