May 4, 2025, a beautiful day in Lake Geneva, WI, playing the par 3, 13th hole at about 165 yards on the Palmer Course at Geneva National. About 60 degrees, variable winds, sun in and out of the clouds through the afternoon. Watched my playing partner get his ball held up in the breeze to find a watery grave before I stepped up. Had a 5-iron in my hands as I addressed the ball but then the wind died down, so I switched to the 6-iron...greatest club pull I've ever made. Put a good swing on it and watched it cut a 1- or 2-yard fade toward the green where it landed softly and trickled at a dying speed into the cup! What a thrill!
