  1. Planned trip to Quail Hollow for the PGA Championship with college friends' foursome was derailed due to one of the guys experiencing a serious medical issue the week before. We cancelled the trip as it just wouldn't have been the same. I stayed in Pittsburgh with another member of the group who invited me to play at his club since we already had the day off from work. After a par-par start, stepped up to the 185 yard Par 3 third hole with the pin in the middle left of the green. Pulled a 6-iron. My newly purchased Pro-V1x landed just short of the pin, rolled forward and disappeared. Did it go in, I asked? Was the lack of a ball on the green an optical illusion with the pin obscuring our view of the ball behind it? Maybe it had gone long off the back into the rough I reasoned. As we reached the green, there was no ball in sight and sure enough it had rolled into the hole for my first ever ace after nearly 30 years of playing the game!

Although we didn't get to Quail Hollow this year, our friend is set to make a fully recovery and I gained a golf highlight that I won't forget. Couldn't be happier with that outcome.
