I've been playin golf since I was 6. My dad got me in a golf summer camp 2 nights a week so he could play 9 holes at Dover Air Force Base in the early 90's. Golf has always been a pass time I enjoy regardless of my score. However, the lingering thought of a hole in one has frustrated me for the past few years. I've been a single digit for sometime, but have friends who are 15-20 hcp-er's with holes in one. Then a couple weeks ago playing in a 4 man scramble with my dad and a couple of friends, I got distracted talking to the hole sponsor, saw we were ready to hit, eyeballed my distance and grabbed 3 clubs. I was told 134 w/ a slight head wind by our group, held onto the 9iron and hit a typical shot. The ball disappeared as it landed on the green over a knoll. We all said that's gotta be close. To the right of the green a group a guys sponsoring a hole in one reward all slowly stood up from their chairs taking a couple of steps towards the green. Then, all their hands raised in the air and started cheering! It was great to experience my first hole in one after almost 33yrs of golf w/ my dad, Retired Air Force MST Sgt. w/ the Titleist Pro V1 with Stars and Stripe alignment stripe he had gotten me.
