I’ve been playing golf for 20+ years. I am currently an 8 handicap. On June 7, 2025 I attended Smiths Falls Golf & Country Club in Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada (Brooke Henderson’s home club!). I was playing with a couple of my best friends. The round started out pretty well. I went bogey, par to start. As we walked to the 3rd hole, ‘times like these’ by The Foo Fighters just started playing on the speaker. I stepped up from the back tee deck, 197 yards on the laser. I pulled a 5 iron. I played a little cut, left to right, and it came into the hole beautifully. All I heard was “BANG”. The ball hit the pin. We all heard it and suspected the ball took off like a rocket, away from the pin. However, none of us could see the ball on the green. My friends hit and we all headed towards the green. As I approached the hole, I couldn’t see the ball anywhere and I thought it had travelled far from the hole. I thought I better have a look in the hole before I begin my search around the green. As I approached the hole, I could see it. A beautiful Pro V1 resting perfectly at the bottom of the cup! An ecstatic celebration ensued. My first hole in one, celebrated with some of my closest friends. A moment I have waited a lifetime for and a moment I hope I get to experience again.
