It was a solid day at The Kingsley Club in Kingsley, Michigan. On the par-3 9th, playing 136 yards into a light breeze, I pulled a 9-iron and teed up a Pro V1x Left Dash.
I made a smooth swing and caught it clean. As the ball was in the air, my playing partners immediately started saying, “That’s in the hole.” It flew right at the flag and, sure enough, went straight in—no bounce, just a direct drop into the cup.
After 47 years of playing this game—and being a single-digit handicap since my 20s—it finally happened: my first hole-in-one.
Definitely a moment I’ll always remember. And that Pro V1x Left Dash? It’s officially retired.
