After playing golf for 35 years, I finally had my first career hole in one. Fate was on my side this day as I wasn't even supposed to be playing the course I made the ace on. We were supposed to be playing in a tournament at another course but heavy rain canceled the tournament so we played the Lebanon Country Club instead.
As I stepped on the 3rd tee, we measured the distance at 126 yards with a stiff breeze in our face. Because of the wind, I decided to hit a 9 iron. The ball started slightly left of the pin but we could see it tailing towards the pin as it was coming down. As the ball got closer to the pin, we heard that magical 'smack' sound against the pin. We didn't see the ball go anywhere and my son yells, 'I think it went in'! My son's friend ran to the hole. As he reached the hole and looked in, he raised his hands up in a FG motion. High fives across the board!
